In this case it would be:

{ tags = ( { displayName = personnel; gmail = Personnel; } ); }

If the tag should be mapped to the Gmail label name “Personnel”.

I'll probably add the GUI needed for this next week, so you can also
wait for that.

In the latest test version I've added the GUI needed to edit Gmail
labels in the Tags editor.

2013-10-05 Thread Olivier Bedouelle

Hi Benny,

I don't understand to add a gmail key to each tag that you want to map
to a Gmail label.

A plist file is for example:
{ tags = ( { displayName = personnel; } ); }

How does it do to take into account the personal gmail label?

Cordialement

Gmail labels are mapped to IMAP keywords and thus implicitly to
MailMate tags. There is no GUI support yet for setting it up. You'll
have to edit a file to map individual labels to tags. After that it'll
be just like using tags, but for Gmail accounts the tags are mapped to
Gmail labels. Read more about this in the release notes.

Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update
preferences pane to get the test release (r3752). Don't expect it to
work flawlessly and don't forget to send feedback. (It's been added to
MailMate within the past 24 hours.)

Have a nice weekend.

Great news, does that mean we can use gmail's All Mail as archive and no longer
need to use [gmail]/archive ?

Sorry if it's in the notes, I'm on the move until Wednesday.

No, although it might be possible to handle a Gmail account differently.
It might be possible to synchronize “All Mail” and then unsubscribe
Inbox and some other standard mailboxes, and then have them as smart
mailboxes instead based on some Gmail-specific label-names like `\Inbox`
(which I believe exist). But this is pure speculation and I can think of
several things that wouldn't work well in MailMate with this setup.

This mean Gmail has a Flag »Inbox«? IMO unsubscribe the folder INBOX
is not the solution.

Yes, at least according to their informal documentation:

Agreed, as I wrote I don't think it would work well.
