I don't really see the need for another channel, which means more housekeeping
for Benny. Due to the extensive refactoring this year, Benny has kept the test
releases only for those who are prepared to do the extra work, including
rolling back if the build is unusable.

Last week we were able to confirm a long-standing bug in the test releases that
have made them all unusable for me since the spring.

Thanks for the explanation. How about creating a new channel for test releases?
Currently you can choose between “Normal releases” and “Beta releases”. Would
it take a lot of effort to make an additional channel für “Test releases”?

I just meant you should send me a message with the working revision of
MailMate, e.g. including output from the Terminal and/or the most recent crash
report.

Will give it another go but it didn't get that far last time so nothing to send.

To be clear, do this by opening a Terminal window and executing this
command:

/Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/MacOS/MailMate

6015 is stable for us on quite a range of MacOS’s so something might
be lurking in the dark on your side.

That's good to know.

Yes. It works for me (⌥ + click the Check Now button, in the
Settings>Software Update) method. I have r6014 build from your archive.
That is the ONLY way to get this build, except to get it from the
archive.

Check for Test Build will not work.

5673 is the latest version available. You have version 6014.

You need to hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the
Software Update preferences pane to look for test releases. The r6015
release is the first one on that branch for quite some time. Before
that, it was only possible to get the cutting edge releases by
directly downloading them from the server. This was intentional since
some users had persistent issues with some of the (major)
changes/optimizations I had done a while ago.

I expect more "regular" test releases now and hopefully also a beta
release soon. (Well, not much will happen in the next few days.)

That's good to know. Based on the crash reports sent by MailMate
itself, it appears to be quite stable (I've only received 1 crash
report).

And I *THINK* that the superannuated breakage in layout preservation

I'm afraid it might just be more rare :)

Thank you, that explains it.

I was trying to check via Mailmate > Check for update. Even with ⌥ it
would not report r6015, but it does via Software Update preferences
pane.

I have latest version now. I have enabled «Crash reports» too.

Mr. Benny, your MailMate masterpiece brought me back to the Mac and is
keeping me on the macOS platform.

On no other app one can get such abundant and polished functionalities,
satisfying so many workflows.

Thank you for such outstanding jewel.
