[mailop] nabble.com admin contact ?
Hi! I'm from the postmaster@ team of FreeBSD.org and look for some contacts from the nabble.com team. We have approx. 75 subscribers on our mailman instance, of the form lists+n-...@nn.nabble.com where the mail to those addresses fails (in a way that our mailman will not unsubscribe them). We would like to know if we can unsubscribe those addresses. We receive those mails as well. Many times the mails from Microsoft contain sensible personal information from the hotmail customer in question, so I guess, Microsoft will be in GDPR trouble in one way or another, sooner or later. > Or that Microsoft would CC his own customer in that complaint sent? [mailop] contact to freenet.de mail admin here on the list ?
Hi! For a mailserver I'm operating we see rejections when the connecting IP is from IPv6, with the error message: 550-Inconsistent/Missing DNS PTR record (RFC 1912 2.1) I've checked forward/reverse/SPF records for that domain and set of IPs and everything checks out. Re: [mailop] Delivery to A record if MX exists ?
Hello, I think I remember a rule that says that delivery to a domain's A record SHOULD NOT happen, if an MX exists. Does that kind of rule really exists ? Or do I mis-remember ? https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5321#section-5.1 5.1. Locating the Target Host can be read that MX records have preference, but it explizitly avoids mentioning A or records if no MX is found. The sentence: [...] If an empty list of MXs is returned, the address is treated as if it was associated with an implicit MX RR, with a preference of 0, pointing to that host. [...] implies a A/ DNS query, but does not explicitly state so. I had a case where lb1-smtp-cloud3.xs4all.net delivered to an A record where an MX existed. -- p...@opsec.eu+49 171 3101372 5 years to go ! ___ mailop mailing list mailop@mailop.org http://chilli.nosignal.org/mailman/listinfo/mailop
