Re: RE: MI PDF Conversion problem with TEXT

2000-03-16 Thread mjenne

Pete and all,
I guess when it rains it pours. I just got done printing a series of maps using
Distiller. When I tried to print the PDF output from Acrobat to my HP 2000C, the text
disappeared. The text does show in the PDF image, though. Anyone have any experience
with this?

I have also had problems with text and label handling in Acrobat.
Text is on occasion rotated or repositioned for no apparent reason.
Have not had any disappearing text yet though.
Have you tried the Distiller feature for creating PDF's?

Also I could not print to my HP 2500 Designjet after installing and using
Acrobat.
Other than those two problems I loved Acrobat software and Pdf features!

Re: MI DATA - US Time Zones in DD NAD83

2000-02-17 Thread mjenne

Tim,
I ran into the same thing yesterday. There are plenty of sources that you can buy the
Time Zones from, at prices ranging from $9.95 to $150, but if you're thrifty you can
download them from:

http://www-atlas.usgs.gov/atlasftp.html

It's in Shapefile format, so you'll need to run it through your Universal Translator.

Re: MI Error -

2000-01-21 Thread mjenne

David,
By chance, was your workspace created on another computer? If so, depending on how
the workspace file was transferred (especially if had been copied onto a CD-ROM), the
file properties might be set to read-only, which would preclude MapInfo from updating
the worspace file.

Can anyone help...? I have just done a considerable amount of
work and have a 'Layout' setup for printing. I have tried to save the
workspace 'but' I get an error message which tells me I am "Unable
to save Workspace". I'm sure there is a simple solution, but its yet
to show itself to me!

Thanks in advance...
