Here as we proceed for making MI recognize a TTF as a symbol:

-We use "Fontographer" software from Macromedia
-Open the TTF file in this Sofware
-Select the advanced option and...
-Select "Use Symbol encoding (PC only)" option
-Save the New TTF File and you can now use it as a symbol!!
