We've been evaluating Manifold v4.5 and a couple of quick points would be:
1. Price - Manifold at less than $200 wins hands down.
2. Import capabilities - Manifold can import a lot of the usgs data (dlg,
sdts) that MI can't.
3. Good looking output - this is Manifold's real weakness. We need to be
able to put out nice looking maps, on a standard layout, at an exact scale
on a particular size of paper. MapInfo is relatively good at this, although
the non-WYSIWIG aspects are frustrating at times. Manifold is promising this
capability in release 5.0.
