Hi Peter,

All tutorial files should now be available for download, from the link
in the tutorial
(http://www.mapserver.org/tutorial/background.html#tutorial-data).
Please give that a shot.

(as an aside, I fixed the link you referred to, but, since it was not

If you find any issues with it, please enter a new ticket in the

[mapserver-users] Rendez-vous OSGeo-Quebec, June 15-16, 2010

2010-04-09 Thread Daniel Morissette

Hi everyone,

Here is an announcement for a Quebec Local chapter event that may be of
interest to members of the MapServer community (see our great line-up of
speakers).

Hoping to meet some of you in Chicoutimi in June!

Daniel

*** A Rendez-vous with Free and Open Source Geomatics! ***

The Quebec Local Chapter of OSGeo is proud to announce the first edition
of Rendez-vous OSGeo Québec which will to take place in Saguenay,
Quebec, on June 15-16, 2010.

The date of the event also coincides with the second anniversary of the
local chapter which was created following a meeting at the same location
in June of 2008. A very dynamic community of over a hundred active
members has built around the OSGeo Quebec Local Chapter since its
creation 2 years ago and we feel that it is just the beginning.

Members of the OSGeo community will be invited to share their projects
and realizations, and visitors will have the exceptional opportunity to
meet and interact with our great line-up of invited speakers, some of
the key players of the North American OSGeo community, including (in
alphabetical order):

* Steve Lime
* Jeff McKenna
* Tyler Mitchell
* Paul Ramsey
* Frank Warmerdam

In line with OSGeo's knowledge sharing and community networking
objectives, Rendez-vous OSGeo Quebec 2010 complement its rich conference
program with a good share of social events: an ice-breaker is planned
for the first night, and a boat cruise on the gorgeous Saguenay Fjord
will take place on the second night.

All the ingredients are there for a memorable gathering, and we hope
that many of you from the nearby OSGeo chapters as well as from the
international OSGeo community will join us in Saguenay in June.

More information about the conference program, invited speakers,
registration, and more, are available on the Rendez-vous OSGeo Quebec
2010 website at http://rendez-vous-osgeo-qc.org/2010/en/

Betreff: [mapserver-users] [wms] How to get gml/xml results from a
GetFeatureInfo on OpenStreetMap?

Hi guys,
I have a mapserver rendering OpenStreetMap data.
On the GetFeatureInfo the server returns plain text like:

Layer 'landuse_layer3'
Feature 0:
osm_id = '23258206'
amenity = 'college'
aeroway = ''
name = 'Stillorgan College of Further Education'

Layer 'building'
Feature 0:
osm_id = '23258205'
name = ''

[...]

I'd like to get GML or basic xml code instead of this and I suppose I have
to create a template of some sort.
Unfortunately I was unable to find doc or threads related to this.

Any hints/examples?

Cheers

I would be disappointed if they were deprecated at the symbol level, as

[mapserver-users] Question about PHP object comparison

I executed this example and object comparison returned true on clone call.
But it returned false when I request another reference from same layer from

Should not it return true ?

[mapserver-users] Transform the style's angle

2010-04-09 Thread Berend Veldkamp
Hi,

I have a shapefile containing an "Angle" attribute, but it seems that
values are interpreted in a different way that I'd expected. My data
uses 0⁰ = up and CW, but MS seems to use 0⁰ = right and CCW. I can't
find any specific documentation about this, other than
http://mapserver.org/mapfile/style.html

Is there a way to transform the attribute, for instance: converting
from radians to degrees, or adding 90 degrees to it? Something like
this: 'ANGLE 360-[ROTATIONFIELD]' to flip the angle would be a nice
enhancement.

Dear All,

I've two layers (elteresek and elteresek2), and I'd like to get
features

from both of them using WFS GetFeature request.
If I apply one typename at a time, it works correct, but if I
include
two typenames in the request only the first is processed and
included in

the response.
This works correct (note TYPENAME=elteresek):
http://webgis.fmt.bme.hu/cgi-bin/mvmNew?SERVICE=WFS&VERSION=1.1.0&REQUEST=GetFeature&TYPENAME=elteresek&Filter=
xmlns:ogc="http://www.opengis.net/ogc";>msGeometry

xmlns:gml="http://www.opengis.net/gml";
srsName="EPSG:23700">649971.6696
236508.4728651559.1688
237919.5832

This works correct (note TYPENAME=elteresek2) as well:
http://webgis.fmt.bme.hu/cgi-bin/mvmNew?SERVICE=WFS&VERSION=1.1.0&REQUEST=GetFeature&TYPENAME=elteresek2&Filter=
xmlns:ogc="http://www.opengis.net/ogc";>msGeometry

srsName="EPSG:23700">649971.6696
236508.4728651559.1688
237919.5832

But the reply for this link includes only the first typename (in
this

case elteresek):
http://webgis.fmt.bme.hu/cgi-bin/mvmNew?SERVICE=WFS&VERSION=1.1.0&REQUEST=GetFeature&TYPENAME=elteresek,elteresek2&Filter=
xmlns:ogc="http://www.opengis.net/ogc";>msGeometry

xmlns:gml="http://www.opengis.net/gml";
srsName="EPSG:23700">649971.6696
236508.4728651559.1688
237919.5832

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Re: [mapserver-users] Strange Behaviour with getFeature using POST method and more than one typename

2010-04-09 Thread Yewondwossen Assefa

David,

You could possibly get more hints if you put you map in debug mode and
see the logs. You can add something like this in your map:

CONFIG  "MS_ERRORFILE" "f:/tmp/ms_error.log"
DEBUG 5

You should be able to check then the query sent to the oracle db and
that might give your more hints.

Expressions from the mapfile are processed and/or passed directly to the
database engine without any encoding conversion. Perhaps make sure your
mapfile is saved using UTF-8 encoding (i.e. same encoding as the source
data).

[mapserver-users] Issues with Mapserver/PostGIS and Cyrilic characters

2010-04-09 Thread Frode Wiseth Jørgensen

Hi all

We are having issues with Mapserver/PostGIS and Cyrilic characters.

We uses PostgreSQL/PostGIS (v1.5) and MS4W v2.3.1.
We're using Windows 7 as OS.

In PostgreSQL we have a database in UTF8 with a table containing geometry
and some fields with cyrilic characters/values.

A Select statement in PostgreSQL with a WHERE statement involving cyrilic
chararcters returns correct answer.

A Mapserver LAYER with at CLASS and EXPRESSION using the same cyrilic
characters does not return a answer.
This is the expression: EXPRESSION ('[navn]' = 'Призрен')

Has anybody some tips regarding this?

Cheers
Frode

[mapserver-users] Re: contours in mapfile

2010-04-09 Thread Oz Nahum
Hi Jeff, Gregory and Everyone,

First, thanks for the useful answers. I succeed now in displaying a
nice filled contour image.

My question is now - how can I make contours nicely draw as line.
Meaning - no fill, just out line.

I tried with:
CLASSITEM "[pixel]"
CLASS
NAME "NO DATA"
EXPRESSION ([pixel] == -)
COLOR 0 0 255
END
CLASS
NAME "0 - 5"
EXPRESSION ([pixel] >= 0 AND ([pixel] <=5)
#COLOR 200 0 0
 STYLE
 SYMBOL 0
 SIZE 2
 OUTLINECOLOR 200 0 0
 END
END
CLASS
NAME "5 - 10"
EXPRESSION ([pixel] > 10 AND [pixel] <=20)
OUTLINECOLOR 243 162 0
END
CLASS
NAME "2 - 50"
EXPRESSION ([pixel] > 20 AND [pixel] <=50)
OUTLINECOLOR 0 200 0
END
   END

But I still get the map with filled contours ...

I know I can use gdal_contour - but I'm just wondering if there is a
way of doing that with MapServer,

Thanks, once again

The problem i'am facing is that with a "hardcoded" DATA staement everything
works fine. The image is scaled and positioned even without a *.tfw file.
But getting the same image via the WMS connection the center of the received
image is placed to the top left corner of the map. The whole image is there but
resizing and proper positioning seems not to work.
When panning the map the image is recentered to the top left corner.
The "grid_test.pl" does nothing more but just copying the wackelkontakt.png
from the file to STDOUT.
Warping and Reshaping works with DATA and WMS sources.

What do i have to do additionally to get the WMS raster positioned and scaled
properly ?
Are there any return params needed from the WMS Server so that the WMS client
does the display properly ?

Thanks and Regards
Heiko

Hello again,

I've been testing this a bit more, and it seems to behppening the same with
only one typename so maybe it's somethign I'm making wrong or something I
configured wrong as well. Also, if I request for only two features there's no
problem but if I try to get more, the there are repeated or missing fetures.

My wfs layer is configured like this:

The filter I want to make is something like this (SQL-like notation):

(PROVINCIA = 1 AND MUNICIPIO = 1 AND POLIGONO = 1 AND PARCELA = 20 AND RECINTO
= 1) OR (PROVINCIA = 1 AND MUNICIPIO = 1 AND POLIGONO = 1 AND PARCELA = 86 AND
RECINTO = 1) OR (PROVINCIA = 1 AND MUNICIPIO = 1 AND POLIGONO = 1 AND PARCELA =
16 AND RECINTO = 1) etc.

And what I get when I make it is something like:

PROVINCIA1
MUNICIPIO1
POLIGONO1

RECINTO1

PROVINCIA1
MUNICIPIO1
POLIGONO1
PARCELA20
RECINTO1

PROVINCIA1

Is this correct???

Thanks again.

[mapserver-users] Re: Tutorial examples broken and missing.

2010-04-09 Thread geep999

Hi Jeff,

1/ The examples 1.5 - 1.9 & 2.1 - 2.5 are all working now.
2/ The "search the archives" link is fixed.
3/ I did find a broken link to the tutorial archive:
http://demo.mapserver.org/tutorial/tutorial.zip
http://demo.mapserver.org/tutorial/tutorial.zip
It's from this page entitled Download the tutorial
http://demo.mapserver.org/tutorial/download.html
http://demo.mapserver.org/tutorial/download.html

Cheers,
Peter
