Hi All,
Using GDB a bit more to look at MS4W calls and I see that the SDE C API dlls
are called after the response?
I am not sure if that has anything to do with it..

[mapserver-users] Re: Can't WFS getFeature w/MapServer 6.0.1

2011-07-20 Thread Michelle Douvil

I have had no problems with shapefiles for GetFeatureInfo/GetMap via WMS.
My issues are all with SDE (we have SDE 9.3.1 and all the data is in
SDEBINARY)
There were no issues with this data at Mapserver 5.2 and 5.7

Thanks,
Michelle

[mapserver-users] ArcSDE 9.3.1 QUERYMAP, QUERY or GETFEATUREINFO not workin (Mapserver 6)

2011-07-19 Thread Michelle Douvil
Hi All,
I figured I'd start a new thread..

I have installed both a custom build for Mapserver 6.0 as well as MS4W
3.0.3..
I can get images back with GetMAP image request via WMS for SDE 9.3.1 data..
However when I try a GetFeatureINFO request via Apache I was getting

a "Premature end of script headers: mapserv.exe"

So I removed Apache from the picture and try the CGI..

With mapserver 5.2
mapserv -nh
"QUERY_STRING=map=e:/sw_nt/mapfiles/base2.map&mode=nquerymap&mapxy=1186128
863840" >test.png (I get a valid png with the feature highlighted..)

With ms4w mapserver 6.0.1 and a 6.0.0 build.. I get..
setMode(): Web application error. Invalid mode.

Any ideas? Is almost like it doesn't like anything other than mode=map for
SDE?

I am using both:

CONNECTION TYPE PLUGIN..(For MS4W)
PLUGIN "E:/sw_nt/ms4w/Apache/specialplugins/msplugin_sde_93.dll"

and

CONNECTIONTYPE sde
(with sde.dll, pe.dll, sg.dll from 9.3 SDK)

Many Thanks,
Michelle

Hi All,
I have installed both a custom build for Mapserver 6.0 as well as MS4W
3.0.3..
I can get images back with WMS for SDE 9.3.1 data..
However when I try a GetFeatureINFO request via Apache I was getting

a "Premature end of script headers: mapserv.exe"

So I removed Apache from the picture and try the CGI..

With mapserver 5.2
*mapserv -nh
"QUERY_STRING=map=e:/sw_nt/mapfiles/base2.map&mode=nquerymap&mapxy=1186128
863840" >test.png *(I get a valid png with the feature highlighted..)

With ms4w mapserver 6.0.1 and a 6.0.0 build.. I get..
setMode(): Web application error. Invalid mode.

Any ideas?

Many Thanks,
Michelle

[mapserver-users] Re: mapscript: read GeoJSON

2011-07-18 Thread Michelle Douvil
This could be very useful - I wonder if the JSON symbology could be read as
well,
or if this just reads the features themselves?

I am thinking it would be useful to translate JSON symbology to mapfile
symbology (or some other processes) for WMS services..

This page doesn't mention anything about symbology
http://www.gdal.org/ogr/drv_geojson.html
http://www.gdal.org/ogr/drv_geojson.html

Any tips on translating JSON symbology to other formats would be greatly
appreciated..

Thanks,
Michelle

[mapserver-users] Mapserver 6.0 MINSCALEDENOM/MAXSCALEDENOM and different EPSG codes?

2011-06-15 Thread Michelle Douvil
We seem to be having some discrepancies in how the
MINSCALEDENOM/MAXSCALEDENOM is being respected depending on which EPSG SRS
is being requested.(with Mapserver 6.0)
For EPSG:3005 things seem to be ok .. however for EPSG:4326 .. MINSCALEDENOM
seems to take over and no features are displayed at expected scales.

Of note though.. if I set MINSCALEDENOM from ‘101’ to something like
‘11’.. I do seem to get back features at somewhat the appropriate scale
levels.
(but then that hoops the scale dependency for EPSG:3005!)

See similar post..

Thanks for any assistance..

[mapserver-users] Re: how do min/max scale filters work?

2011-05-24 Thread Michelle Douvil
Have you been able to get the MAXSCALEDENOM to work in this case?

I am see discrepancies in the way it respects MAXSCALEDENOM depending on
which EPSG projection I request in my WMS GETMAP request..(using Mapserver
6.0)

Projection is set at MAP level as all SDE layers are in EPSG:3005..
PROJECTION
"init=epsg:3005"

IE..

This respects scale dependency..(zoomed out greater than MAXSCALEDENOM

[mapserver-users] Re: GetFeatureINFO errors in Mapserver notoccurringin Geoserver.

2010-02-02 Thread Michelle Douvil

Just an update to the problem we are having with the spatial views in
ORACLE/SDE..
It turns out that some, and I am not sure all, of our spatial views in SDE
9.1 will work with a GetFEATUREINFO request IF the OBJECTID is dropped from
the SVW.

This is not an ideal solution however, since other applications (Arcgis
Desktop, Geoserver etc), may start to have a problems without the OBJECTID
in the the SVW.

This is counterintuitive to what I understand about OBJECTIDs..
http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?TopicName=About_ObjectID_fields
http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?TopicName=About_ObjectID_fields

It would be great if we could narrow down what it is about OBJECTIDs in
Spatial Views that Mapserver does not like..

Many thanks!

Michelle

Thanks Jeff..
I download the Stable setup.exe Installer for MS4W.
Which installed the ms4w-2.3.1-setup.exe 142 KB (contains MapServer 5.2.1).

And it worked properly..
Both polygon features were displayed.

I am not sure what could be the issue, but I believe it may be related to
our compiled version
MapServer version 5.2.0

Regards,
Michelle

Re: [mapserver-users] GetFeatureINFO errors in Mapserver notoccurringin Geoserver.

2009-04-24 Thread Michelle Douvil

Thanks again for the reply Steve,

Where are using Mapserver 5.2.

I have tried playing around with the "PROCESSING OBJECTID=" parameter to no
avail for the SVW described below. However, for about 30% of other SVWs, if
I apply the primary key of the input spatial layer to this parameter it does
fix the problem.

Some Spatial views work fine, (and are complex SVWs with several join
statements and where clauses) and others do not (no join statements or where
clauses as the one below).. We can't seem to narrow down the cause as of
yet.

In one instance of a spatial view, we changed the underlying roles of the
inputs to the spatial views (so the user could see the SVW and the input
spatial layers and attribute tables) And this fixed the problem.
But for other SVWs this did not correct the problem. Perhaps the primary key
and/or OBJECTID of the input spatial layers need to be in the SVWs for it to
work correctly, but in some instances this has not worked for us either?

Below is the MAP and LAYER definition in the mapfile...

Re: [mapserver-users] GetFeatureINFO errors in Mapserver not occurringin Geoserver.

2009-04-23 Thread Michelle Douvil

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the suggestion..

I attempted this URL

http://server/mapserver/air-climate?&mapsize=1024+370&layers=AEI_AIR_QUALITY_AOI_O&mapxy=-126.94250575451+54.5026638549918&mode=query

and it returned:
Content-type: text/html msSDELayerGetShape(): SDE error.
SE_stream_fetch_row(): Invalid parameter value passed to function. (-66)

Looks like WMS and mapserver queries have problems at the same point in the
code - msSDElayerGetShape()..

I find it odd that Geoserver WMS seems to have no problem with the same sde
layer data.
Which makes me believe that the underlying SDE data may be OK, but Geoserver
and Mapserver somehow do the queries to SDE differently..

many thanks,
Michelle

[mapserver-users] GetFeatureINFO errors in Mapserver not occurring in Geoserver.

2009-04-23 Thread Michelle Douvil

We have data that is in Oracle 10.2.0.2 Enterprise Edition with ArcSDE 9.1
General Update Patch 3.
We have several spatial views that are causing us issues when GetFeatureINFO
is requested via Mapserver 5.2. The result is an SDE error.
SE_stream_fetch_row(): Invalid parameter value passed to function. (-66).
However, using Geoserver 1.7.3 to the same data the GetFeatureINFO request
is successful. Any thoughts as to why Mapserver has issues but Geoserver
does not?

The Spatial View given in the example below is a simple view (no where
clauses or join statements). We have re-registered the Spatial view with the
sde to make sure the objectid was correct.

Looks like Geoserver 1.7.3 doesn’t mind GetFeatureINFO on
SCHEMA.AEI_AIR_QUALITY_AOI_SVW
Whereas Mapserver 5.2 gets confused.. see examples below

http://server/geoserver/wms?service=wms&request=getFeatureInfo&version=1.1.1&layers=prod:AOIAEI&query_layers=prod:AOIAEI&width=500&height=500&SRS=EPSG:4326&BBOX=-126.94250575451,54.5026638549918,-126.72424645805,54.6394718590618&x=200&y=200&info_format=text/plain

Results for FeatureType 'AOIAEI':

geometry = [GEOMETRY (Polygon) with 22 points]
air_quality_aoi_id = 66
aoi_name = Bulkley Valley / Lakes District
status = Plan Established
feature_code = FF00595000

http://server/mapserver/air-climate?service=wms&request=getFeatureInfo&version=1.1.1&layers=AEI_AIR_QUALITY_AOI_O&query_layers=AEI_AIR_QUALITY_AOI_O&width=500&height=500&SRS=EPSG:4326&BBOX=-126.94250575451,54.5026638549918,-126.72424645805,54.6394718590618&x=200&y=200&info_format=text/plain

GetFeatureInfo results:

Layer 'AEI_AIR_QUALITY_AOI_O'
Content-type: application/vnd.ogc.se_xml

http://schemas.opengis.net/wms/1.1.1/exception_1_1_1.dtd";>

msSDELayerGetShape(): SDE error. SE_stream_fetch_row(): Invalid parameter
value passed to function. (-66)

many thanks for any assistance.
