2015-04-21 Thread Abelli - agnez
Hello
Since it's a bit too late to design and print professional flyers now. I'm
 gonna
reuse, reduce and adapt the existing brochure, without involving the designer
 from Pixin'ko.

I could print let's say 50 brochures here at work, on standard paper.
great, thanks.
Since I can't come to the Associalibre event, I could potentially send the
printed version to you, Agnes, thanks to the guy who won the 2015 Free
 Software
Award. He has a conference to give there, at Associalibre, but cannot find it
 on
the timetable[1]. He will be at our startup integrator tomorrow. He has
 already
accepted bringing these brochures to you if you want. In that regard, we will
have to find a way for you to recognize him.
Nice that he is going to bring them.
I know that he is invited to come, but he does not have a conference.
It's more informal, not mentionned on the timetable...
To recognize him, I know to whom I have to ask.

Hope next time someone of your community can be present. I guess I
contacted you a little late.
Greetings
Agnez

Hi

I've uploaded a new version of the brochure.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:LibreOfficeV.4.0.x-CommunityBrochure-GeneralInformation-FRLtr.odt

Updates: Version 4.4 - 110 languages - ref. web use - QR code - extension
mechanism

I have not found on the wiki (EN pages) materials for changing the visual.
The flyer seems to use similar design.

My skills in this area are limited so I have not changed that...

Not to undervalue Pierre's work, but according to the advertisers and marketing
specialists I have here in the company I'm working, a 3 folds brochure like this
with so much text in it is likely not to be read. Except maybe by nerds, but
end-users won't, if we have to distribute such brochures outside IT conferences.

Also according to the feedback they have, I wonder if a brochure is the best
format. Maybe flyers would fit better and would be cheaper to print. When
printed the text on Pierre's work is rather big, reducing it would allow us to
reduce paper size and cost.

I think LibreOffice needs a consistent and greatly designed marketing campaign
across languages about its flyers. Providing the same consistent brochure/flyer
in different languages for UK, DE, NL and FR would reinforce our branding.

If this is about the price, read on.

Here in the company, we need at least 1.250 prints (lower than excepted) in
order for us to have preferential prices.

Based on Pierre's work, for A4 colourful brochures (recto verso) with 2 folds
(already folded), printed on 135gr glossy paper (traditional paper for printer
are 80gr so this is a great improvement compared to the brochure we have now) +
free redesign from Pixin'ko with sources is 319€ (VAT excluded). (372€ for 2.5k
prints). Lowering the price is possible if we play with paper quality and print
delays. If after compression, you find it still too expensive, like I said,
co-partnership is possible with our small mentioned logo below the
flyer/brochure.
But for Brussels, we will need to have the final version before end of week in
order to have them printed before 24th April.

If you need to order as a company, or in the name of TDF, I don't think you need
to add VAT, because this basically consists in intracom exchanges. The delivery
price depends on the location where we need to send the package.

2015-04-16 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
Where i work when we go to events we take along old flyers even if we have
newer ones but just put them at the bottom of the pile.

It bolsters numbers, makes the stack look heftier (and therefore people are
less reticent about taking one), it is a good way of using up older ones
and a good way to make sure it's easy for people to compare or to access
information that may have been changed on newer ones.

If my place doesn't have any new ones (or has run out) then if anyone
notices we say something like Wow!! Have we run out of the new flyers
already? They've been really popular!

I think the old flyers are plenty good enough. You all put a LOT of work
and discussion in to producing them and it shows in the quality. Of course
there were some points that people disagreed with but that is healthy and
the result was good.

Regards from
Tom :)

If you want to compress the price, which will depend on the

you want, Pixin'ko can make a discount if the logo you can find at the
centre of

You can get an even greater reduction if, still based on this paper

the 6 vertical column contents makes advertising for Pixin'ko.

Again, we are not so interested with a co-sponsorship but I would need a
ballpark estimate of how much we're talking about.

So yes, it is outdated... but reading you I feel you're
talking about a document OOo 3.2.1...

Sorry, I didn't mean to undervalue your work, on the contrary, this is
the only material available, it just needs to be updated to the latest
version :)

Cheers

Merci beaucoup !
Dommage si personne de la communauté LO peut être présent (pour la
partie 16 - 18h), mais le matériel d'info est déjà très utile.
Le public cible sont des associations Belges francophones. On souhaite
promouvoir des outils libres et offrir des solutions et points de
contact d'aide (pro ou bénévoles) concrètes.
Cordialement

2015-04-14 Thread Charles-H. Schulz
Hello William,

Whatever brochures we need and we probably need some we will pay in full with
no third party logo :-)

But do we need them for this event? Cor do you have some leftovers?

Best,

Charles.

 Hello William,
thanks for asking the French team !
It's surprising that there is no info material in french, I had the
impression that libreOffice is quite visible. But probably I have
never
 come across anything in French..

Maybe, if I could find a volunteer to translate, would you have a
source
file for a flyer in English or Dutch ? Cor, maybe you have the file
of
the paper you handed out at FOSDEM ? I think it's really worth a try
to
have some info material, as libreOffice should be installed at any
 association ;)
We don't really have a budget for printing, but I'll try to do a
minimum
 somehow...

I think the analysis by Arc is very useful for the public we want to
attend. Thanks for pointing me to it.

As Charles pointed out, we have a French brochure available from [1]
and called
Brochure d'information générale. It's basically an ODT file and is
already
translated into French.

How much printed versions do you need? The company I'm in as an intern
could
provide a redesigned version and print it too if you want, but this is
unfortunately not for free. If a small logo of the company could be put
below
the paper, I can have a discount price.

@TDF, @Charles

Do you need new designed brochure even for the FOSDEM next year? If you
need 2K
pieces, the branding material will be returned to you in a modifiable
version.

Some English two sided 'free for all' (wrong theme :) ).
Maybe a hundred? Should look it up.

Great. Keep me informed. Read below for more details.

On 04/14/2015 05:58 PM, William Gathoye wrote:
Little precision needed before I ask the others : which is the company
the logo whould be added ?

The company I'm working in as an intern is called Pixin'ko [1], this is the same
structure which is editing StudentGo[2][3], a social network for student
looking a first job/internship in relation to their studies. We already made a
win-win tweet, as reminder[5].

As you can see on their website[1], Pixin'Ko is in charge of graphical
development and has great narrow partners with local printers in order to
compress prices, but by still providing excellent quality.

If you know the TEDx conferences, Pixin'ko developed the brochure[4] and
graphical dev for the last event held in Liege, Belgium.

For LibreOffice, the graphical development will be free, but *only if* TDF needs
2000 brochures.

If you want to compress the price, which will depend on the format/print quality
you want, Pixin'ko can make a discount if the logo you can find at the centre of
their website[1], is printed below the brochure as a small strip.
You can get an even greater reduction if, still based on this paper [6], one of
the 6 vertical column contents makes advertising for Pixin'ko.
