Re: GCI: Update Gnome Usergroup Info, Introduction

2011-01-11 Thread Dave Neary
Oh - and, fwiw: as a mamber of GNOME France, I have not heard anything
about your request, and as a member of guigmasters, I didn't see any
email from you there yet.

Cheers,
Dave.

So I'm still doing this task. I'm sorry I haven't sent any updates in
the last two days, I was quite busy.

So far I've emailed about half of the list, and have only gotten info
from China and Brazil. I've gotten updated contact info from them and
estimated member populations. Also, GNOME Brazil had a meetup recently
(which I have added to the wiki), and GNOME China is trying to open up a
 store, if I read correctly.

And I just noticed that technically the GCI thing finished, so I can't
get credit for this task. Oh well, I'll still follow it through; I'd
feel like a jerk if I were to just drop it, especially seeing the other
two students who did just go and drop it, heh.

 More updates soon!

Re: getting www.gnome3.org

Which PPA is that? This one [1], or this one [2]? Did you test it
yourself? It would be great to hear from anyone who does have experience
of using either of these PPAs...
The first, as it includes gnome-shell. I had some issues with running
gnome-shell using it, but I think it might be due to my hardware (or
rather a bug in mutter or the driver).

Feel free to tweak the texts in the git repo [1].

Don't worry: I will. :)

I know, that was meant for other interested contributors. :)

Of course any feedback on those dates is welcome and hopefully we

Thank you and looking forward to your responses.

The release team is meeting next week-end, and we'll discuss this.

Cheers,

Re: GCI: Update Gnome Usergroup Info, Introduction

2011-01-11 Thread Jason Lo
Concerning France, it seems that I had forgotten to email it's group/contact
for some reason. I will get on to it.

Concerning the gugmasters group, I will email there once I have sent to all
of the individual groups.

northeast linux fest

2011-01-11 Thread Jonathan Nadeau

Hello list,

I'm putting on the Northeast Linux Fest located here

http://www.northeastlinuxfest.org

I was hopeing that Gnome could be represented here. i would like Gnome
to get a table and present the desktop to the people that come to the
fest. It is being held at a collage and there should be a large number
of collage students attending. could you please mention the Linux fest
to people around the New England area. Thanks for your time and help.
