Re: Fwd: Must Read: Google Grants Renewal Required

Why did we phase out google checkouts in favor of paypal? I've been hoping
for an alternative to paypal for a while now.

I believe this was phased out and actually, I think that Google Checkout
as a whole is getting phased out very soon.

I have never really looked into this but always wanted to - is anyone
interested in picking this up? Maybe we should add it to our next meeting
agenda?

marketing meeting Tuesday July 2nd 2013 - 20:00 UTC

2013-07-01 Thread Sriram Ramkrishna
Yes, it's a week early. The reason is that three of us have board meetings
on Tuesdays at the same time and it would be easier to offset the two
meetings so that every week we have a meeting one for the board and one for
marketing ni order to not have too many meetings on the same day.

Alternatively, we can skip either skip next week's meeting and instead do
it the following week, OR do it on another day next week. What do you
think? I don't really feel comfortable skipping next week's meeting
because we will be close to GUADEC and I think we will have things to
discuss.

Let me know which one you prefer.

Fwd: Must Read: Google Grants Renewal Required

2013-07-01 Thread Stormy Peters
Are we using our Google Grants account anymore? (I am not doing anything
with it.)

The two main advantages that I remember are:
* Getting donations though Google checkout without having to pay a fee.
* Free Google ads

*Google loves to give grants to nonprofits! But every now and again, we
need to make sure you are in fact still a registered nonprofit, and that
your AdWords account is compliant with Google Grants guidelines. Our Google
Grants renewal policy will require Google Grantees who have been in the
program longer than six months to submit updated nonprofit status
documentation, along with their AdWords Customer ID, for review. Google
Grants will continue to be available, and we'll likely request you renew
your eligible status every year **going forward. *

*What Next?*

*You don’t have to do anything yet! We wanted to give you a heads up that
the renewal policy is coming so that you can have your nonprofit status
documentation ready and you can review the Google Grants
guidelines to
ensure your AdWords account is compliant. We plan to launch the renewal
policy in July 2013. We will provide a three week window for Google
Grantees to submit a renewal form at that time, so please be on the lookout
for an email in July.*
*

New URL Policy

We recently sent an email announcing a change to our URL policy. Google
Grantees are now only allowed to advertise the one URL associated with the
registered nonprofit listed in their original application. Please remove
extra URLs from your account before the renewal policy to avoid suspension
from the program.

Please refer to the renewal
FAQson the what, why,
when and how of the renewal policy.

Sincerely,

The Google Grants Team

Re: GNOME & openSUSE Conference

2013-07-01 Thread Efstathios Iosifidis (aka diamond_gr)

Hello,

I'm Efstathios (Stathis) Iosifidis from Greece. I'm the same as Izabel.
I represent GNOME in Greece.
I live in Thessaloniki, the city that the conference will take place.

Tobi, I have many stickers left (you sent them about 2 years ago from
FOSDEM). I also have 2 GNOME 3 shirts left (women size).

Regarding selling things in Greece, we have to give some kind of
receipt. During previous conferences that I had a booth, I talked with
the organizers and had printed "THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION TO GNOME"
broshure with the links where you can find more information (gnome.org
and gnome.gr). This way we're legal. It's typical thing.

So let me know to start printing those.

I also bought for booth of Greek events, a small GNOME statue.
Take care,
Stathis

Yeah. I guess we can do that. We have T-shirts in Brno and we need to
order stickers anyway as we ran out of them during FOSDEM. Does anybody
feel comfortable with ordering stickers?

Unless anybody else happens to already have shirts and other things
in Greece I would set you up so that you can represent us nicely.

Looking forward to seeing you during FOSDEM again :)
