Writing thousands of articles trying to turn them into fraudulent regime change tools. I honestly can't understand how such people exist. Did they ever really do anything to build the left or did they all crawl out from beneath some rock 5 years ago to take up the cause of Bashar al-Assad? https://www.bellingcat.com/news/mena/2016/12/14/bana-alabed-verification-using-open-source-information/ _ Full posting guidelines at: http://www.marxmail.org/sub.htm Set your options at: http://lists.csbs.utah.edu/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com

However, the contradictions of the Syrian economy that led to a revolt in 2011 have only deepened over the past five years and will likely keep the country locked in violent conflict until they are resolved. Despite the vain hopes of the pro-Assad left that the country can return to a development model advanced in the name of socialism, the outlook for Syria is extremely bleak as long as the country is locked into global capitalist property relations. For that matter, all our futures are bleak on that score, even in the most prosperous imperialist nations. Waking up to that reality is admittedly very difficult for a left that is lagging behind world historical developments that make socialism—real socialism—more necessary than ever. full: https://louisproyect.org/2016/12/14/the-economic-roots-of-the-syrian-revolution/ _ Full posting guidelines at: http://www.marxmail.org/sub.htm Set your options at: http://lists.csbs.utah.edu/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com

Consequently, I have not written as much on this area as I could have. Indeed, it is likely that as a result of writing this article, some of the individuals that I mention will attack me publicly as some kind of combination of crypto-fascist Assadist, stooge of Putin/Iran and deluded white anti-imperialist; many others may silently judge me in much the same way." For the past 5 years, there have been--without exaggeration--20 pro-Assad articles to every one like mine. All you need to do is keep tabs on Salon, Counterpunch, Jacobin, The Nation, Truthout, the LRB, Alternet, Znet and any other left or liberal website to see this. Everything about the pro-Assad left is based on lies, including Allday's absurd article. _ Full posting guidelines at: http://www.marxmail.org/sub.htm Set your options at: http://lists.csbs.utah.edu/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
