It's a slang expression, encountered primarily in restaurant context.
When you eighty-six someone, you refuse to serve them.

Ridiculous, if that's what Anthony meant. I've disagreed with Joe a few
times lately and I think he was being unnecessarily personal in the
recent exchange, but let's not go around ejecting people just because
discussion gets a little hot. As Joe says, it gets much hotter in Gaza.
And for that matter Yarmouk.

I can verify it is a naval term. A variant is 'deep six'. Means to get rid
of. Probably spread from military service to police, restaurant, etc.

Meh. I'm pretty used to violent threats from strange people on the
Internet. There were times in Gaza when those of us with online presences
would read our oddest ones out loud to entertain each other. But those,
like this one, typically came from other continents, and often involved a
bit more creativity.

I've never heard it before, but most voters on Urban Dictionary agree that
it means to kill someone:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=86%27d

I used to know police codes pretty well, and don't recall any systems in
which two-digit ones reach the eighties. Where is that?

Mind you, I'm not that bothered about it. During the 2014 war, I'd get
dozens of more entertaining threats a day on Twitter alone.

It's general U.S. slang for a bartender or bar bouncer telling a customer that,
due to her or his ill behavior, the customer is refused service; or, more
likely, that the person is no longer welcome on the premises and must leave
now, and may mean the person is banned from returning.

The notion that it is some kind of threat to do violence to the customer, or
list member, is silly.

With apologies for the one-liner, what on Earth is that?

I know some don't care for it overall, but think now is an excellent time
to cite the fifth rule from Orwell's Politics and the English Language:

Never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word, or a jargon word if you can
think of an everyday English equivalent.
