This paper shows up in my local library.  I thought the best course was to 
refrain from asking them to remove it.
Better to put forward our own publications and get them into the library.  As a 
matter of fact a leftist publication, Fire This Time, is also available in my 
local library.  I don’t think it is very good, but it does offer a challenge to 
The Epoch Times.
I had no idea that the Shen Yun dance troupe was connected to The Epoch Times.  
They had a massive advertising campaign that reached into my small community on 
Vancouver Island.  Tickets started at somewhere close to $125.00.  I wouldn't 
be surprised to find that for every $100.00 in ticket sales, they spent $15-$20 
in advertising.

Workers Plan May Day “People’s Strike” to Demand Safer Workplaces
Workers at some of the biggest corporations in the United States are
planning an unprecedented wave of strikes on May 1, International Workers’
Day. Employees of Amazon, Whole Foods, Walmart, FedEx, Target and Instacart
will walk off the job demanding compensation for unpaid time off work,
hazard pay, sick leave, personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies
at workplaces. Many of the workers are part of a growing coalition that
will join a May 1 People’s Strike launched by worker cooperatives in
Mississippi. This is Kali Akuno, co-director of Cooperation Jackson.

Kali Akuno: “We’re asking everybody to start with these basics: no work, no
shopping, no rent, no mortgage, no school, no borders, no prisons. Right?
Let us all take joint action together.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Lends Support to May 1st Rent Strike
Tenants around the U.S. are organizing rent strikes, as rent comes due on
May Day for millions of newly unemployed workers. And some homeowners are
planning to withhold mortgage payments. New York Congressmember Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez is calling on state and federal officials to cancel housing
payments nationwide during the pandemic.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “People can’t pay. You cannot coerce someone
into doing something that they cannot do. There is no money in the bank.
People need to feed their kids. We cannot be evicting. We need to be making
sure that we are passing policy that allows people to stay in their homes.”

We must start from a recognition that we live in a deeply interconnected 
world, and that this is in no small part due to the deliberate decisions 
taken by Global North countries since the late 1970s. As their leaders 
lowered barriers to the internationalization of production and finance, 
firms looking to maintain rates of profit in the face of stiff 
competition from a newly ascendant Germany and Japan began to offshore 
production to countries with lower unit labor costs. In the ensuing 
decades, complex global value chains to produce goods developed that 
crisscross the entire globe. Lead firms based in the Global North, while 
avoiding legal liability for the condition of workers employed by their 
suppliers, still control and coordinate the entire production process. 
Goods including food, electronics, apparel, and even surgical masks, are 
now produced in value chains. It is along these modern-day trade and 
logistics routes that the SARS-CoV-2 virus has spread with such speed 
and lethality.

anti-lockdown stance: it is primarily the work of state epidemiologists, 
especially Anders Tegnell. Tegnell has become the de facto international 
spokesman for the 'Swedish model'. Interviewers, ill-equipped to 
question the spontaneous ideology of scientists, tend to defer to him, 
even knowing that his approach is controversial among Swedish 
scientists. He is smooth, authoritative, and has pat, misleading answers 
for everything.
