Re: [Marxism] Daniel Guerin
There is a translation of Bourgeois et Bras Nus: La Lutte des Classes sous la Première République into English - however, I think it's an abridged version. It's quite a few years since I read it. It was published by Pluto Press in 1977. The cheapest copy I've found on the Abebooks website is about $90. Einde O'Callaghan I read this about 5 years ago in the course of looking at the Brenner thesis, Comninel, etc. It is actually a lot drier than I expected it would be but very informative nonetheless. La burguesía y los descamisados: la lucha de clases durante la Primera República. It would be most interesting if someone made a serious history of this issue in Argentina, understanding of course that the First Republic, from the workers´ point of view, has been the first Peronist government (1945 to 1955). The internal class struggle within the national front is a matter worth studying, indeed. Provided, of course, one does not establish as a given and first datum the idea that workers were stupid enough to be duped by the bourgeoisie, etc. -- Néstor Gorojovsky El texto principal de este correo puede no ser de mi autoría YOU MUST clip all extraneous text when replying to a message. [Marxism] Daniel Guerin
Anyone heard of an Anarchism vs. Marxism debate (or something along those lines) between Guerin and Mandel? I once saw this in a bibliography and tried to find it but couldn't, I'm not sure if it's only in French... _ Your E-mail and More On-the-Go.
