[Mayan EDMS: 1777] Re: Search for document content not OCRed within Mayan

2017-06-06 Thread David Kornahrens
Makes sense to me. We have a few documents that weren't scanned by OCR,
but I do not see anything in the logs to represent that.

[Mayan EDMS: 1775] Cabinet Permissions

2017-06-06 Thread David Kornahrens
I'm having a slight problem understanding the workflow in terms of
restricting data.

So I have a user "Test" that I have assigned to "Group A".

"Group A" has been granted a role of "standard users" with permissions to
view cabinets (but only because I want them to see Cabinet "A" and see the
structure. Then I selected to allow that role to "view documents".

However, it appears they can now see each cabinet and all the documents
within.

What am I missing here? How can I get Cabinet A to only be viewable to
"Cabinet A". Cabinet B to only be viewable by Cabinet B and so forth?

Of course, Admin's will be able to view across cabinets. If this is not a
possibility, this extremely limits our ability to utilize this platform.

Re: [Mayan EDMS: 1773] OCR and document names

2017-06-06 Thread Douglas Van Es
i've now set up a couple of users, a group, a role, some metadata,
watched and staging folders.

test document uploads are working great.

after reading through the docs and website, i still can't figure out how
to set up OCR to capture an invoice number and rename the document based
on the result.

can anyone tell me if this is possible with mayan? any hint's on how to
implement?

thanks in advance!

[Mayan EDMS: 1772] Successfully Uploaded Documents but Mayan says I don't have any

2017-06-06 Thread Mark Phillips
I have installed the latest mayan edms on a test machine with a mysql
backend. It appears to be working - ie it runs with no errors.

I created a document type and added some optional and required metadata to
that document type. I uploaded several documents (tiff image and pdfs) for
my new document type, and they are all in the mayan/media/document_storage/
folder. However, the mayan ui says I have no documents and when I search
for these documents nothing is found.

When I uploaded the documents, I got as far as the upload screen, where I
uploaded the document. The green check mark appeared, and that was it. Did
I miss a step after that? There does not appear to be a next button on this
screen. Did I miss a setup option somewhere to make the documents visible?

Thanks!

Mark
