I mounted the network share to a local directory by adding a line in my /etc/fstab file.
//mysmbserver/Mayan_EDMS_Document_Storage/ /media/staging_folder cifs credentials=/etc/smbcredentials,iocharset=utf8 0 0 The file /etc/smbcreddentials has this: username=myusername password=mysecretpassword domain=mydomain LeVon S.
