Follow-up Comment #5, patch #5899 (project mc): the first patch had a flaw: holding backspace ended in chdir to / - added a timer pressing bs during search ended in cd.. - dosearch(panel, key) invoked instead see attached patch. dont understand why this bug moved arround. are bugreports the wrong place to send such patches? where should i? ___ Reply to this item at: http://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?5899 ___ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ ___ Mc-devel mailing list http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/mc-devel

[patch #5899] backspace navigation
Follow-up Comment #4, patch #5899 (project mc): finals make time short - sorry i use the backspace navigation for about two weeks and noticed it can be a anoyance as well as a welcome one hand navigator when searching lots of directorys. i will add a config option and more intelligence before submitting a patch. this feature is more intrusive in behaviour than expected: it will turn the commandline in the background because focus will be needed for simmilar handling like blank=diskusage. typing a nonaction character turns the option off and returns to the current behaviour. is the kind of modification the right one or would you point out a different position in the modules? something that publishes the state of the commandline to outside modules? dont expect fast progress peace ___ Reply to this item at: http://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?5899 ___ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ ___ Mc-devel mailing list http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/mc-devel
