Quantity of holdings
Hello Everyone, Hopefully you won't see this as a waste of your time but I am trying to put together the start of my paper and am looking for a very broad statement re the number of artifacts actually held by museums. I have tried to look around the Net for a survey that talks about the number of items held by museums globally but can find nothing. Can any of you throw out a number of how many artefacts there are out there in museum-land? The purpose of the opening statement is to set the stage of how important it is to image RD to develop a solution that can capture the images and data of all of these artefacts in a manner that will allow their capture before they crumble away on us.
