[MCN-L] MCN conference - need a roommate?

2007-10-25 Thread Perian Sully
Hi fellow MCN-ers:

I'm possibly being sent to the conference at the last minute, for
Thursday and Friday nights, and I'm asked to present a budget for it.
Since all the nearby hotels seems to be $300+/night (OUCH!), does anyone
need a roommate for a couple of nights?

[MCN-L] Image Server?

2007-10-25 Thread Glenn Myhr
We use ContentDM.

http://www.contentdm.com/

Not what I would call a full featured DAMS but it works very well for us
to manage and provide access to our image collections. We also link
collection images held in ContenDM with the object records in STAR our
CMS.

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for suggestions on how your institutions are managing
images. I've been looking into Microsoft's Expression Media
application, but would like something with a web-based browsing
ability. Another requirement is that we don't have to move the files
off-site, such as with using something like Flickr. I would like
them to sit on our server and be accessible via a web-browser so that
we can just link to these images from our website.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Roger

[MCN-L] Image Server

2007-10-25 Thread Landsberg, Erik
Roger,
One possibility (of many) you may want to investigate is NetExposure Image
Portal. We are building our DAM in NetEx to match some of the same needs
that you mention: keep the files on our own server, web access to the DAM
allowing for easy implementation for many users. Also, important to us, SQL
database underpinnings with reasonably good communication with TMS.
