Re: [MCN-L] Piction to web experience?

2020-09-02 Thread Amir Tabei
We have a mongo db that is conncted with APIs to TMS and Piction. It harvest
the changes and sends them to Drupal which feeds our online collection. I am
also happy to provide more info if needed.

Hi Andrew,

SLAM pulls assets and metadata from Piction to WordPress. I'd be happy to join
conversations if a non-Drupal example is still helpful.

David,

This is fascinating as I see a lot of museums promoting technologies such as
AI/AR that promotes the use of your mobile devices.

At my museum, I'm evangelizing the idea of cell phone lockers *primarily *as a
service for visitors who want the museum be a place where they can experience
calm... But yes, also for charging — (the museum was 10 seconds away from
signing off on banks of usb ports installed in walls all around the floorplan
"as a way to get people to "hang out and have conversations"
before I showed up)

somewhat related — I tweeted these a little while ago:

   - The most radical tech thing we could do in the 21st century museum
building is commit to a 100% screen-free experience. The #musetech
challenge then: Could we articulate, _convincingly_, what we would lose by
   deleting all screen-based digital interfaces? #musetech #calmtechnology
   - What if museums offered cell phone lockers so that visitors could
experience galleries w/o their devices? Seen as a _service_ and not a
_requirement_, Museums could be a calm respite from tech instead of a space
that exploits digital dependence. #musetech http://bit.ly/2MbPndn
   - Are there any museums out there that have the guts to deploy something
   like Yondr? #musetech #calmtechnology (cc @caseorganic #yondr)

Re: [MCN-L] Parking Management for Staff and Visitors

2019-04-16 Thread Amir Tabei
Shane,

We have 4 parking floors P1 through P4. Staff is advised to park anywhere from
P3 and P4 and we reserve P1 and P2 for the visitors. No specific technology to
track it.

I’d like to hear from any museum that has a way to enforce staff parking
policies. Or if you even HAVE a staff parking policy! What are your
policies/procedures, and do you have a tech solution to help enforce staff
parking.

Thanks!

[MCN-L] Job Opportunity: Sr. Web Developer Dallas Museum of Art

2018-09-24 Thread Amir Tabei
Hello MCN Group,

This is my first post and new to the group and also my 12th day at the job. I
wanted to share one opening we have for a Sr. Web Developer position
https://recruiting.paylocity.com/Recruiting/Jobs/Details/58755

Also, I was wondering if you all have discuss or perhaps have a survey in the
past regarding the IT Staff ratio in your museum? I will be very interested to
see where we stack up as I'm digging more into the current state and creating a
future state roadmap.

Thank you,
