Re: [MCN-L] Kodak announces new ICO, KodakCoin, to track IP licensing and payment facilitation

I thought this was very interesting too, Perian! There are already two
other blockchain-based rights management projects in the works that I'm
aware of, po.et and Copytrack . Of the two,
Copytrack is an existing real-world business moving to the blockchain, and
po.et is more of a grassroots, open source solution. And yes, I think with
all, the ultimate goal is for the coin to work as a payment mechanism for
creators. I am personally fascinated with blockchain applications and can't
wait to see how these can apply to the cultural space.

Cheers,
Dalton

[MCN-L] Kodak announces new ICO, KodakCoin, to track IP licensing and payment facilitation

2018-01-10 Thread Perian Sully
So this is an interesting use of blockchain technology. I can't quite wrap
my head around how this will work, but using blockchain for rights
licensing makes some sense.
https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/09/kodak-announces-ico-stock-jumps-44/

Does it use their blockchain to store the web crawls and maintain a list of
usage licensing? Does it automatically send out C&D letters? What happens
when the site changes and there's a disconnect with the blockchain? How do
creators get paid? Just with KodakCoins?

Blockchain: the newest tech to wrestle with!
