hi, i must admit it looks tuff not as tuff as me though i sorta ment will the tank hit ground when u get a flat tyre? not where does the tyre go, if thats what u ment /? mark k - Original Message - From: Justin Kinchington [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, June 10, 2004 8:41 PM Subject: RE: 65 Ltr Fuel Tank in 1600 With Pics Mark, It is up higher than the exhaust, and I believe its only about 70mm lower then the spare tyre well, my photography may not do it justice. I will measure it with a tape. I lowered it with some 100mm spacers to get the perfect flat/level boot space. Re: Wiring ECU
Oh, I was referring to the fitment side of things - when I bought my car it had two barrels one for ignition and the other just for column lock - removed the column lock mechanism and matched it to identify it as N12 at the wreckers yard- bought the barrel with a set of keys and got rid of the redundant switchch hanging by wires. Not sure how the car's wired (FJ20ET + Haltech ECU) I bought from Nissan the special bolts to put the lock in i,e, the heads snap off at certain torque, so would require drilling out to get it off again like factory. I cannot confirm this yet as I still use the ignition switch loom from my front cut - very annoying especially if you forget to put the key in an turn off the steering lock (have only done this a few times :-). If you had a front cut you can plug the frontcut switch straight into the 1600 harness and if everything else is right the car will start. However I was not able to test it. I'll try it tonight. If that doesn't work I'll have to try the capacitor trick. You can use a EFI starting relay with a Microtech ECU, and I think I've always done so with a 1600 because of the problem with the ign switch. The Brumby switch is more than likely not going to solve the problem either but then again, I've never tried that one with EFI, they work a treat with Bluey electronic units. I have seen a remote start button used with a 200B FJ conversion and that seemed to work, can't recall what ECU was used on that one. regards Terry -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Ignacio Sandejas Sent: Tuesday, 8 June 2004 4:59 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Wiring ECU It is a 1600. I definately know that there is a gap when going from start to run and vice versa. I have heard people use a capacitor and diode to take away that gap, but this was on an ECU using an EFI relay. The Microtech does not require one. I will try and pull apart the switch and see if I can clean that up or rig something that way. Do we know of any donors for the switch? I heard Subaru Brumby? The problem I have found is this: I need to get an ignition on feed for the ECU (obviously). When you go to start, the power from ignition on cuts out. So what I have done is use the wire that goes to the coil during starting (Black w/ blue tracer) and an ignition on feed together. Problem is there is a noticeable gap going from start to run. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to rectify this? What have you guys with aftermarket ECU's (Microtech especially) done? Is it a case of a too worn out switch? CA20 Probs
Hey All, Not really a performance motor, but here we go. My little sister has been having endless problems with a Pintara she owns, it is the one with the twin spark CA20 pussbox in it, and has an auto trans. Over a period of time the idle speed keeps dropping, and every time she takes it to the mechanic they adjust it at the throttle. It is to the point where the nut has been moved about 1cm over the last year and a half, the motor should be revving its tits off now. Any other suggestions? The TPS has been replaced, they recon they have checked the throttle body, the timing belt has been done etc etc. Regards, Bob --membersozdat--- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ -

RE: wheel spacers
yeah I think the washer ones like in your link below are the go. there the ones that i can get a set of 4 for $60.00 i think their thick enough to just fit. when i said washer type previously i actually meant that he was using a WASHER like ring thing which to me sounds like there is the chance of too much movement. unless someone in Brisbane wants to swap a set of black stanza wheels for some 1600 ones. they are black kinda have slashes accross them with a datsun logo in the middle. must have tyres that are legal. - i dont care what tyres :) here they are here http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=2477096778rd=1 i dont particularly care what sort of wheels, just didnt want stock rims cheers jeff. Subject: RE: wheel spacers Hi Jeff, I'm using 5mm washer type spacers on the back like these: http://www.niceproducts.com.au/wheel_stud/spacer_1.htm I know it seems dodgy, but on the rear with R31 discs, none of the hub is exposed so I figure there would be no point using hub-centric spacers.
