My wagon uses about 1qt per 2000 miles. After using the first 1/2 quart, the low oil level light starts blinking, but the dipstick still shows oil at about 3/8 up from the bottom (add) mark. So, I patiently wait another 1000 miles, checking the oil every so often, and as it gradually goes down to the add mark the light comes on more and more often until it is nearly constantly on when I reach the add point. So, I usually just add 1/2 quart when the light first starts blinking, but I've noticed that oil consumption increases when I do this. Dipstick is new from Rusty years and years ago, and I verified the part number is correct for my car on the EPC. Low oil light does not come on during left turns (i.e. the circuitry in the instrument panel appears to be working correctly). Can the float for the oil level sender get tired? Can I clean it or adjust it? This behavior is rather irritating. I minored in English in College and yeah they do tell you to get it all down first, form is not as important as getting your thoughts out. Then you go back and organize and make your grammar and such but especially in expository writing (ie novels and such) getting the story is more important than worrying about your spelling or your periods or whatnot. I was never very good at that, I'm a pretty good speller and have a fairly good grasp of punctuation and grammar in general so I write a lot slower and plan on fewer revisions later on. Everybody is wired differently. I can't do much beyond basic algebra or geometry and my carpentry is rudimentary at best so you work with what you've got. That said I'm always amazed with people who post ads that sound like a 3th grader wrote them... -Curt Date: Fri, 20 Nov 2009 16:09:53 -0600 From: R A Bennell b...@mts.net Subject: Re: [MBZ] CL award winning ad writer of the day... My 21 year old son writes like that and he has a highschool diploma and a year of trade school college. He is an apprentice auto tech working in a shop. He works so many hours and then goes back to the college for a couple of months and then works more hours etc. He is working on his 3rd level hours now so he will have 2 more stints in college before he ultimately is a licences journeyman. They told them it was more important to get their ideas on paper than it was to do it correctly at the outset. I think they thought the students would become proficient by osmosis or something. In my son's case, it just did not happen because he was the sort of kid who did not let that sort of thing worry him. They told him it was Ok so he did it that way. I was appealing my property tax assessment, which was for more than the property was worth at the 2005-2006 peak. The assessor didn't show, she chose to stand on the documents that she submitted (but she submitted them too late to be admissible). I was able to show properties several times the size of mine, within a mile of mine, with assessments lower than mine. The end result? The hearing officer recommends that my 2008 and 2009 assessment be set to the exact amount that I was protesting against, which is 80% more than I paid for the place in 2007. [MBZ] I am NEVER selling on ebay again
I have just about had it with ebay. I took quite a long break from ebay because of all of their rule changes, and have recently been selling a few things there. Nothing is selling for anywhere near what it should, most things that usually do sell are not getting bids. So some jackass johnny come lately with 30 something feedback, who has only been a member for a few months leaves me negative feedback saying his item never showed up. This guy never contacted me, apparently did not pay attention to delivery times in the auction, never paid attention to the tracking info that was emailed to him when it shipped. He even pays for parcel post to cheap out on the shipping but I went ahead and shipped it fedex for him. And he leave negative feedback. Ebay has cut the balls off of sellers and they cant leave negative feedback for these type of buyers. I am done, it is just not worth it at all. Re: [MBZ] CL award winning ad writer of the day...
Having been through this in two states for two different properties, and prevailed in both cases, I know there has got to be an appeals process. Do some digging around and find out. They tried to pull the same crap with us on the house we currently live in (which last assessed at nearly $500k in 2005) and I nailed them to the wall on it. Even though our sale didn't count towards the assessed value (private sales and bank sales aren't considered a market sale) I was able to show the percentage decrease for every house in my neighborhood from 2005 to the present, and with that they backed off. I also provided proof that the basement, which had been fully finished during the last assessment, was now gutted to the walls, effectively reducing the living space by approximately 1500 sf. The two times we've done this we have done our due diligence and come to the table with nothing but facts. The quickest way to get shot down in these meetings is to go in making claims without the data to support it (I'm not suggesting that's what you did.) If you have a legitimate claim and back it up, you're more likely than not to win it - even if you have to appeal.
