for the record, i am making no claims that there were no planes and we did
not go to the moon. it is my personal belief that there were planes and we
did go to the moon

it is also my belief that 9/11 was a false flag operation.

do we need to start talking about gas chambers at auschwitz now or can this
suffice for how conspiracy theory whack job i am or am not?

Well, I was working in the mission control center in Houston throughout the
Apollo 12-17 missions and worked with most of those crews, so I'm pretty
sure that was real. My cousin walked out of one of the twin towers on 9-11,

Re: [MBZ] Stop me again and again and again!

2014-03-13 Thread Hendrik and Fay
Huuh, I count three interior shots (if you include Wiltons favourite
thing about Mercs), the one of the drivers seat shows the seat to be
intact but a little worn (as you would expect with the mileage) and the
rear looks like it was never sat on. The SEC's are starting to go up in
price, especially for the top of the line ones.
They are also starting to get into the nostalgia factor, that factor
being that my Mum/Dad/favourite uncle/et al had one of these when I was
young and now I want one to remember them with.
A lot of people tend to get into Mercs because someone significant in
their youth had one or more.
At the very least it would be worthwhile to get in touch with the seller
to get more info on history and perhaps get another 20 shots of the
interior in HD.
However it looks like an original car that has been used but not
abused/pimped.
Over here any half decent 560SEC's tend to go from 8k up to 20k
depending on condition.

9/11 was of a scope and proximity that it could not have been
faked/assisted. Also, there were enough people personally affected who
would have resources and connections that would find flaws in the official
version if they existed.

I have seen a lot of obfuscation both from the public's point of view and
also from the inside (32 years observing the inner workings of a government
agency). Most of it is directed at those who are either easily gulled, or
willing to go along...like for example the administration's BS about what
caused the debacle in Benghazi. Or how this administration has saved the
economy and cut the deficit to the bone. Most anyone with brains can see
through that kind of stuff.

Are you brand new to this culture?
Movies are all make believe. They stage them and take the moving
pictures and then edit the moving pictures and then show them to
people. Don't believe the science of airplanes that can fly faster
than needed at lower elevations than the Jet engine can support - that
is more religion than science. Don't believe earth was created - just
believe some other stuff about billions of years - believe the
religion rather than science.

supports management and printing from my phone. Ink is pricey but I print
so rarely it doesn't make a big difference. Unlike my old Canon the
Officejets don't seem to dry out from disuse. That said these are the
office Officejets - $300ish+ retail new.

Cheapest AIO non-inkjets are the Xerox Phasers, we have some at work. I
would buy a real scanner plus a printer before I bought one of my own.

I have a LJ 8550DN in storage. Wonderful printer but noisy as all get
out. And a power pig of course. If I ever need to print 1 pages I'll
wheel it out, would you believe, four man lift (in my case, one man with a
dolly and a ramp, but a big machine nonetheless).

We usually go to DC for the 4th of July, I'll trade you the 8550, an
excellent Scanjet with ADF, the Officejet 7210, and a shelf of spare ink
etc. for your broken 83 TD. Or, you know, money or grape jelly or
something... :)

Best,
Tim

The youngster was washing the S500 when I drove up this afternoon with my
roadster top down. Just came in from watering my new trees. Windows are wide
open, enjoy in the nice breeze with temps around 70F and low humidity.

And I thought having to bury stuff below 36" was a lot (in Wisconsin).

I do dismantle things rather than keep the whole thing in most cases. I
just have a hard time getting to the point where I actually use the
scavenged parts to make something interesting. I don't know how many
little electric motors and fans etc that I have. Also, old blender motor
with multi speed switch etc. No real idea what to make out of it but it
just seemed to great to toss in the garbage.

I used to go to the recycle center in Houston, was not far from my

attendants (who were all on work release or community service or
something) to let me scavenge stuff from the electronics pile --
that's where I got a bunch of Ljet motors. I got a nice Sony vidcam
too that worked for awhile (some issue in the tape transport) but it
has a firewire port so it works as a cool webcam, does night shots and
stuff.

On the plus side, I just tried it again and today it works.

So, who knows why it did not work yesterday. Maybe something needed

After taking stuff apart I would take all the junk back and toss it on
the pile, the attendants would look the other way. They were quite
intrigued with what I was doing with all the stuff. I told them about
my CNC machine, and for as stupid as they acted (at least in their
behavior that landed them in that position, they were not really
unintelligent) they were really very interested in it all. I had this
idea that someone needed to start some kind of training program to
engage these idiots in something that would capture their attention
and maybe lead to some useful purpose in life. I should have gone for
some gummint grant and done that, have them take apart the recycle
stuff and make something useful from it, get them interested in
electronics tech/repair or something.

Re: [MBZ] OT Malaysian 777?

2014-03-13 Thread Andrew Strasfogel
So let me get this straight. George Bush entertained Osama Boin Laden at
his Crawford, TX ranch on the very day that the FBI or CIA or NSA imploded
the Pentagon and Twin Towers,? I suppose the two of them (plus Laura and
a couple of Bin Laden's many wives) watched the drama unfold on the TV in
W's rec room, sipping coke or iced tea while laughing at the obviously fake
images of bodies falling from the sky. How stupid of me not to have
realized this.

I haven't quite figured out the Israeli connection, but if Bin Laden were a
Mossad agent then it all makes perfect sense.

More on off-topic, what to make of the news that the engines kept

Try listening to the current "This American Life" episode if you want to hear
about obsfucation when it comes to government agencies. Interesting story. I'm
halfway through it and will hear the rest on the way home today.

Re: [MBZ] OT Malaysian 777?

2014-03-13 Thread Gary Hurst
i don't really make anything more of 9/11 beyond a very strong feeling that
my government has been lying to me about it and everything else they have
ever told me about anything. it was the israeli connection, not physical
evidence regarding planes, that got me suspicious of the official 9/11
narrative and i await someone to come refute those allegations so i no
longer have to suspect that this was a false flag operation perpetrated by
my own government as an excuse for perpetual large scale war and erosion of
personal liberty

Re: [MBZ] Stop me again!

2014-03-13 Thread Gary Hurst
they say you can ride the south florida beaches on those bicycles with 4"
wide tires, but i've never done it nor have i seen anyone do it. i can say
it cannot generally be done with your standard 2" wide cruiser tire. i
even tried it the other week with a bicycle with an electric motor and just
ended up sliding out and ending up in the sand

Re: [MBZ] OT - copier - printer problem

2014-03-13 Thread Rich Thomas
You need to take out the good stuff from all that then send the rest of
it to the recycle.

I used to go to the recycle center in Houston, was not far from my
house. I would take some Gatorades and hand them out to the attendants
(who were all on work release or community service or something) to let
me scavenge stuff from the electronics pile -- that's where I got a
bunch of Ljet motors. I got a nice Sony vidcam too that worked for
awhile (some issue in the tape transport) but it has a firewire port so
it works as a cool webcam, does night shots and stuff.

I had this
idea that someone needed to start some kind of training program to
engage these idiots in something that would capture their attention and
maybe lead to some useful purpose in life. I should have gone for some
gummint grant and done that, have them take apart the recycle stuff and
make something useful from it, get them interested in electronics
tech/repair or something.

So, who knows why it did not work yesterday. Maybe something needed to

I upgraded to a new one a couple of years back and the old one has
been sitting on a desk outside of my office.
It worked fine when I parked it there and I have used it a few times
in the interim just to keep it ready as a backup if I have any

Yesterday I decided to copy a couple of pages just to make it work

It runs. It will feed the paper through, but it does not produce an
image on the paper. There is a light grey coating on the whole page
but nothing to indicate an image of what was copied.
I pulled the toner cartridge and shook it a bit but that did not

Any ideas? The drum is not part of the toner cartridge and I am

Sadly it may just go in the dumpster as I am not inclined to spend

I would be disappointed to go there. If the interior was trashed I
would beat on the guy more. The color is not my particular favorite (it
looks sorta bronze?) but it is a cool car.

Re: [MBZ] OT - copier - printer problem

2014-03-13 Thread Rich Thomas
The fuser might be burned out or disconnected, or the fuser fuse might
be burned out. You can probably open it up and look to make sure all is
connected and if there is a fuser fuse. You can also tell maybe if the
paper does not come out hot. Another issue might be that the laser is
not working to actually put the image on the paper. Those are generally
in sealed "containers' with just the output going out a lens. If it is
something else in the scanner -> printer path (e.g., the scanner is not
scanning due to some failure and is thus not sending an image), you can
try to print something from the computer and see if that works.

If not, these things are pretty much disposable now given the cost of
new ones and cartridges. They do have a bunch of great precision parts
in them though if you have an interest in making electronic stuff. I
scavenge motors, slides, LEDs, power supplies, mirrors, and other stuff
which can be repurposed to various things. I built my CNC machine using
scavenged stepper motors from old Laserjet III printers, and have
another little prototype with a smaller stepper motor and power supply I
got out of somethings.

[MBZ] OT - copier - printer problem

2014-03-13 Thread Randy Bennell

Do we have anyone on here who knows about copiers?

The gist of my issue is, that I have a Panasonic multi-function machine
- copier, printer, scanner etc that is a number of years old.
I upgraded to a new one a couple of years back and the old one has been
sitting on a desk outside of my office.
It worked fine when I parked it there and I have used it a few times in
the interim just to keep it ready as a backup if I have any issues with
the new one.
Yesterday I decided to copy a couple of pages just to make it work and
move the rollers around etc in an effort to ensure it was still ready. I
discovered it will not make a copy.
It runs. It will feed the paper through, but it does not produce an
image on the paper. There is a light grey coating on the whole page but
nothing to indicate an image of what was copied.
I pulled the toner cartridge and shook it a bit but that did not seem to
help.
Any ideas? The drum is not part of the toner cartridge and I am thinking
it may have deteriorated.
Sadly it may just go in the dumpster as I am not inclined to spend much
on it.
