Not that simple, it's also affecting her iPhone, which has a totally separate contact list (two lists actually, gmail contacts and iPhone contacts). In addition, her iPhone periodically drops all the gmail contacts and calendar events. Deleting the gmail account from the phone and then adding it back will restore both. Re: [MBZ] The Brakes that WON'T - 1983 300TD
Gout an update from my mechanic. Pump is good. Seems the hose is completely blocked. Could also be a booster problem but he can't check the booster until he replaces the hose. WIll get definitive answer tomorrow. On Mon, Nov 10, 2014 at 6:39 PM, Rich Thomas via Mercedes mercedes@okiebenz.com wrote: You need to get a Mityvac and have at the various hoses and connections. You'll track it down soon enough. You can see if there is vacuum coming from the pump or not. If there is then there is a leak in a line or your brake booster or some other part in the system. It is easy enough to check where, the lines to the locks go off behind the brake line (I think, been awhile since I have done this) so you can disconnect the connector and plug up the line, then see if the brakes work. The shutoff line is along there too, just look where the hoses go. You can plug the lines with a golf tee or pencil. It should pull down pretty far, if not much vacuum then you have a leak in the line from the pump or the diaphragm. Those connectors disintegrate and leak, I ended up making another one for in front of the brake booster on the TD from some barb fittings and a tee from Home Depot. Works fine and will last forever, I think even cheaper than the actual part. The vac hoses under the hood can rot too, vac hose is cheap. Remember, this is one case where if it sucks, that is good. --R On 11/10/14 6:23 PM, astrasfogel--- via Mercedes wrote: My symptoms are silent -- Sent from myMail app for Android Monday, 10 November 2014, 04:31PM -0500 from Rick Knoble via Mercedes mercedes@okiebenz.com: Original Message From: Andrew Strasfogel via Mercedes Sent: Monday, November 10, 2014 1:41 PM To: Scott Ritchey; Mercedes Discussion List Reply To: Andrew Strasfogel Subject: Re: [MBZ] The Brakes that WON'T - 1983 300TD My pessimistic half is betting on the vacuum pump, the most expensive scenaro ($350 + labor). Outlook is here to stay. I can get Office through work employee discount for about $25. I'd like to migrate all contacts over to gmail, right now iCloud has about half her contacts captive. Difficile is quite the bugger for persons from what these articles have said. The one thing I don't like about this is all the emphasis on autoimmune as catch-all for many malady these days. He sold his Benz and bought a cheap truck or something, so really had no need to stay on a Benz list. The political stuff was probably more of an irritant. He was enlisted in the USCG then did the officer thing after some time, hence the Lt in LtDon. I always found his views on things mildly entertaining, especially his stories about his charges at the home. [MBZ] the DOT
Folks i have a pretty good knowledge of the DOT. I have an Isuzu NPR which is over 10,000 lbs GVW. I am NOT required to have a CDL because it is under 26,000 lbs and does not have air brakes. I AM required to have a DOT medical (which you can get from certain chiropractors) I went to one and he did a good eye test and DID check for diabetes and general stuff. $40. The medical is every 2 years. I have to have a couple of notebooks of DOT forms. I have to do various vehicle inspections yearly by the inspector (who is ME. I qualify since i've been a mechanic for over 40 years ….. and there is a form for that, too.) I was contacted by the local DOT (but still FEDS) for a safety audit. I assumed he wanted to inspect my truck. No, he wanted to see my PAPERWORK. I had to scurry and spend a week or so getting that all together. I passed with an A+++ He loved all my form and dividers in the notebooks I have to pay $75 per year for UCR http://www.ucr.in.gov/MCS/UCRFAQ.pdf that allows me to be in and out of state It's quite a hassle. When i drive less than 150 miles from home i can be on a time card but if i am over 150 miles i have to be on regular trucker logs. All the forms are downloadable from the DOT I am limited to trucker hours of driving but all of that is pen and paper stuff. I do not have to have a drug program since i have only one driver and truck (me and the NPR) THEORETICALLY you could drive an NPR as an RV with none of this, but it would have to look like and RV i would assume. I have to stop at all weigh stations etc. FORTUNATELY my white 14 foot box truck is pretty generic and blends in with all the others and the DOT and weigh station people seem to have very little interest in my or my truck I do keep all the lights working … markers, etc etc. Mercedes content … it's simpler to drag presses behind my 300td, but sometimes the stuff is too heavy. In state is a piece of cake. thanks, xx rick Rick Hawkins ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com All posts are the result of individual contributors and as such, those individuals are responsible for the content of the post. I don't recall the original WILTON son experience, but my son mentioned FAA hires many in that fatal sin arena of 54+ - perhaps FAA requires aircraft experience. Maybe the WILTON BUFF experience can pull some rank for son? My added spin is that I complain about the diss that is shown to workers aged 50+ that include me but I think us old folk need to step aside and let the young ones have jobs/income/earnings/investments that we might gather. We made it to 50+ and perhaps if we don't step aside the young ones might not make it to 50+? Actually, maybe I'm depressed, but I don't really care anymore to be here. Things seem too messed up and seem to be getting there faster than getting better and that is probably an old-guy depression mode thing rather than a problem in the workforce needs. I mean, I had my day in the sun making a paycheck, so... let someone else have a crack at it. My literal net worth is $0 and unless a gifting happens, nothing will make that net worth improve. Decent health is my biggest net worth and I don't need insco taking premiums from the the social security. Savings for retirement never happened nor did any investments - we ate what we earned and here we are just like the majority of people ever on the planet. Insco/retirement/investments seem to be big today, but 99% of the planet has none - I'm in good company so I let the young ones take any earnings that I might want. mao ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com All posts are the result of individual contributors and as such, those individuals are responsible for the content of the post.
