Odd.  I have used that trick often before.  And in my claws-mail
(sylpheed port) client it did not split/wrap it before I sent
it...  It may not be the clients fault.  The parans may be the
problem.

What about with the parenthesis "encoded" as well as the spaces.

I have not done it, but I would think JBWeld would be a good
choice.  Light, waterproof, can be shaped after it sets.  Clean
the aluminum really good first.  I would use muriatic acid.

would be best?  Turns out I was not the first idiot to think a sawzall was a 
good tire removal tool.  There is some curb rash and other scuffing that might 
enjoy attention.  Much of the damage is pretty fine.  Could I get away with 
using glazing putty?

ownership of personal items such as TV, cell phone, interweb, car of your 
choosing.

THe e30 set had 2 of the 3 gears for the SDL odo.  Fortunately, these 
are the 2 gears that fail most often.  So are you saying he can also 
provide the 3rd gear if you ask, and give him the tooth counts?

In looking at the repair instructions, it seems there is no place to hook
up a speedometer cable.

The page shows taking the screws in the back out to remove the
speedometer from the cluster housing at

This picture indeed shows no place to hook up a speedometer cable, but
does show a green electrical below the speedometer. Thus it is an
electronic speedometer.


But I was told I had a cable-driven speedometer.  So what gives?

I like the looks of the Tite Reach, but the inverted square drive means you 
have to use their ratchets. 

Hex drive is more versatile, you can drive them with gearwrenches, flex head 
gearwrenches, etc.

I might have wished the drive end was smaller than 17mm though. I have a small 
set of tight clearance Snap-On sockets and a long bent handle ratchet, it's 
half inch hex drive, I think the sockets are 1/2,13mm and 9/16.
I don't remember what it was supposed to be used for, I used it for alternator 
belt tensioners on the backwards (flywheel in front, belt drive against the 
firewall under the cowl) Saab engines. 
 
These sets have 6-19mm with no skips, so you get the hard to find 7mm and 16mm 
sockets:

[MBZ] OT contact cement & laminate

I applied the contact cement to the back of the laminate and to the wood 
surface, letting them dry now.  

I used a cheap foam paint brush to apply the cement, and it's not a smooth, 
uniform coat.  There are some places with extra cement, they are taking a long 
time to dry.

Should I clean this off, get a better brush and try again?

High temp paint is strong stuff if you let it cure, the sooner you get at it 
the better. I had one lantern somebody had painted in high temp black, it just 
laughed at paint stripper, I finally removed it with hydrochloric acid...
