Re: [MBZ] Got my buck for the season

2018-10-04 Thread archer75--- via Mercedes
Same thing but heavy fog and I wasn't driving very fast. Young buck stepped out
in front of car and impacted grill squarely. Grill, radiator, A/C condenser,
etc. destroyed.
Most of car heavily splattered with blood and feces. If it had jumped, or if it
had been a large deer, the impact zone would have been the windshield.

I was very lucky but irritated since I had to limp home instead of fishing that
night. Before I left the scene of the accident a member of a private hunt club
stopped and asked for the deer, so someone benefitted.

Just did.

Inrupt is developing "Solid" (a poor name to try to search
for...) The web page about Solid has a lot of nice buzz words and
marketing fluff - and not much else. It looks to me like
Facebook, GoogleDrive, and Flicker all closely connected - but
without a central, controlling, commercial company in control. It
also looks like it expects persistent internet connection. And it
is _not_ going to replace the internet, but they hope to change
how we all _use_ the internet.

Re: [MBZ] ***SPAM*** Re: ***SPAM*** Re: Got my buck for the season

2018-10-04 Thread Mitch Haley via Mercedes
Reminds me of a Pat McManus (outdoor sports humorist) story about hunting with
his cousin Buck because Buck, though an idiot, was old enough to drive and Pat
wasn't.
Buck would see a 3 week old hoofprint and say 'look Pat, deer sign'.
Pat would spot a steaming pile of poo and Buck would derisively say 'you can't
eat sign'.

So one day, Pat dumps a box of milk duds on the ground. "hey Buck, deer sign".
Buck gives his customary dismissal, so Pat picks a couple nuggets off the
ground, tosses them up, and catches them in his mouth. And of course when Buck
figured out what Pat did, he gave him a good thumping on the head for it.

Mitch.

If the aux battery is bad you will get the white battery message. Start car and
see what the charging volts are with a multimeter.

Hi All,
I have used my 2004 E320 w/89K sparingly for 5 years (1K per year) and
replaced both primary and secondary batteries 5 years ago.  I keep the car
garaged and hooked up to a Battery Tender charger on the primary battery in the

Warning Message came on.  I tested the electrical system at the primary battery

passed and charging system passed.
How could I test the secondary battery?  Research showed that with this

Not a wonderful vehicle, in need of some work, but the price seems very
