Something my W116 taught me, a stupid lesson really:
If you don't unhook the shocks, and try to lift the engine to replace
the main mounts, you rip the shock mounts, which cost more than the big
mounts.

Crank position sensor is bad or the connection behind the head is corroded.
Runs rough because it's on the mechanical idle, not the computer controlled
idle, and the tach is driven off that signal.

[MBZ] W124 300D rough running / tachometer

2021-07-13 Thread Craig via Mercedes
I have experienced recently our '93 300D running roughly after I start
it. When this happens, the tachometer is not working. A varying amount
of time later, the engine starts running smoothly, always accompanied
by the tachometer working.

I have changed fuse #5: stop lamp, instrument, front roof light
electric bulb control unit, cruise control,
tachometer
but this has not helped.

Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks,

Craig

Re: [MBZ] Lb7 injectors

2021-07-13 Thread Allan Streib via Mercedes
That happened on my Element. Last year it was not driven for several months.
The battery eventually went dead due to the constant draw of maintaining
memory, clocks, etc.

When I charged the battery and started it, the idle speed wandered up and down.
I drove it around a bit and after a while it settled down and was "normal"
again.

Strange to say the least. How can he claim to it to be one owner  and
never to have had a belt on the AC? One would think that if it did come

What do you make of the leaking at the bottom corners of the windshield?
Seal needs to be replaced to solve the problem?
