[MBZ] The agony of 722.9 defeat on $900E500 (now about $1400)
I tried to have a go at flushing out the transmission with my homemade pressure tool. Turned down my compressor and of course the regulator failed and was blowing out all the air when turned down less than full pressure. Bah. The air gun actually doesn’t send out much pressure so I just filled the compressor part way to maybe 50psi and tried it. There is an opening right next to the filter neck hole that the air was coming out of. So my thumb plugged that hole up and air was going on but nothing was coming out. I did it for awhile and quit, maybe I need to do it longer. Maybe that fancy tool has a plug for that hole so you can leave it on there for awhile, and the built-in regulator would deal with high-pressure air. I’ll have to look at it again. So in that vid the guy mentioned the torque converter had a drain plug. OK I’ll do it that way. I turned the crank bolt all around, getting under and up about 20 times. Got my exercise today. No drain plug. So after that dumbass me thought hey I should just go look at the one I pulled from the donor. So I did that and of course there’s no drain plug… So anyway I’ll disconnect the cooler lines and blow some air through them and drain the cooler and call it good. Then get the new conductor plate/TCM and valve body back in and see what it does. The kid sent some instructions to use the majick computer to reset some settings in it so will have to see about that too.
