Screw the hand primer pump back into its seat. 2 - Verify that the shutoff lever on the pump moves twords the rear when you pull the start knob to the second (run) position. 3 - Connect a good battery charger to the battery - something that will source 30 - 50 amps. 4 - Pull the start knob to the third (glow) position and hold until the glowplug indicator in the dash glows red. 5 - Pull the knob to the fourth (start) position hold until the engine starts, but no longer then 15 seconds. The starter will overheat if you run it too long. 6- If the engins shows no sign of starting then verify that the glow plugs did warm up. If not then you have some electrical troublseshooting to do before you can start the car. 7- If the glow plugs do warm then repeat steps 4 5 until the car starts. You may have to repeat this cycle 10 or more times if the injection pump was empty.
