Re: [MBZ] '84 190D heater valve

2010-06-21 Thread Curt Raymond
You don't need to take out the battery, just take the grill thats over the
wiper motor off, its right there plain as day.

Now I need to find out why it isn't getting vacuum.

The heater valve is behind the battery, and is exactly as pictured.  You
have to remove the battery, then the cover behind the battery, then the
cover to the side of that, and maybe even the cover under the wiper
blades and its right there.  The 2nd pic is the aux water pump.

I get all heat all the time which I had on my '84 my Indy replaced the
heater valve and all was well. So I asked Rusty for "heater valve
W0133-1630748" which is what World Pac told me I needed.

So anyway I think I've got a good electro-magnetic heater valve on my
parts car (which I still need to go get) but my question is what is the
other thing actually for?

you have to read the manual, follow the entire test procedure, you have
a vacuum leak somewhere. I hate 201 climate control.

Curt Raymond wrote:

Okay forget everything I said here... The valve is correct, I was looking in

The valve itself seems fine, if I put my mity-vac on it it'll move. There is
however no incoming vacuum when the car is running no matter what the temp
wheel is set for... Bad push button array? This array is a replacement from my
Indy. Maybe I'll try the one from my parts car or perhaps I'll do it right and
pull this one out and check if the red vacuum line is connected first.

Curt, etal.
The Heater valve on a 201 is the vacuum thingy, behind the battery rear
cover, that you have.

The electromagnetic whozis is the pump for heat at idle.
Confused yet.
