That sounds way way way too expensive. It's likely going to need oil cooler seals which is a MAJOR job, which I am going to need to do on the wife's r320 which is the same engine. That engine is OK but is WAY more difficult to work on than the old 61x or 60x engines. You will certainly need the laptop to do just about anything. That's the model I bought 3 mts ago. Only problem I've had with was the interface between key and the BCM. Also had a Ox sender and the harness changed, harness was under a MB TSB. Total cost was under 350. Getting 29.7 ~ 33.1 Hwy 24.5 ~ 27.2 mixed town hwy driving. My '07 (75 kmi) is doing well, so far. 'Had it since May '16. BTW, the V-6 is so quiet, that SWMBO "sneaked" up behind me in yard coupla days ago, & I didn't know she was there 'til I heard the door unlatch as she began to get out. (I'm not hearing impaired.)
