Good point, I didn't notice the pictures and the time of year. That's what classic car insurance like Hagerty is for. They'll do higher values if you've got the supporting documentation and are willing to spring for it. -D From: Mercedes on behalf of Allan Streib via Mercedes Sent: Sunday, February 20, 2022 2:44 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List Cc: Allan Streib Subject: Re: [MBZ] 1984 300SD - 78k miles - $21,000 Since the photos are from summertime I guess it's been for sale for a while. No good doors or fenders? Hood or trunk lid? Sunroof cable/motor/rails? Axles? Diff? Driveshaft? 14" bundt forged wheels? Worth the price if it had 15" bundt forged wheels. What about the unobtainium rear glass? Was it good? Is that still unobtanium? Other glass? If it were closer, i'd get it to replace the heap. I would only offer about $300 or $400. I did not talk to the car owner, only Hans the shop owner. Hans said the motor is good, but front suspension, oil cooler lines, and motor mounts are bad. There was all kinds of personal junk in the car, shoes and tools and you name it. Vacuum locks didn't work, had to unlock everything by key / hand. I did not try to start the car, as Hans said it leaks too much oil. If I needed a car and had time for a project, it could be fun.
