I like that idea. Does this transmission have the emissions control feature where it holds first great longer when cold to warm up the catalytic converter? Might be worth checking. Nice thing about the the V8 cars of this era is that MB offers a set of pre-made wires. For an 85 380SL the part number is BQ4150029. They're made from Bosch parts. Alternately, you can buy all the original parts to build the kits from these guys: http://www.kingsbornewires.com/ Or they'll sell complete wires made with Beru parts. The reaction across the board in the car mags and among every long-time MB owner I've talked to regarding the 210 chassis is nice, but not a patch on the old one, meaning the 124. Specific complaints I've heard are cheapened interior materials, vague steering, and a general lack of the bank-vault feeling (clank instead of THUNK when slamming doors). Re: [MBZ] 94 E420
My friend is still thrilled with his 1999 E320, a year after he purchased it from a MD dealer. It was a low mileage car and impeccably maintained at the time of purchase and he has put on about 11 k miles since then with no problems whatsoever (currently at 67K mi). Re: [MBZ] '94 E420 available in Des Moines
Owner is a smart businessman, owns his own company (Debbie's younger brother is his right hand man at the outfit, sort of the #2 in the office.). so I don't think he would part with the E420 just for the tax write-off. This is a guy who bought a BMW SUV to replace the E420 and didn't even have to talk trade in to do the deal.
