[MBZ] ANTIFREEZE TEST for ALUMINUM RADIATORS

2006-10-09 Thread Stephen D Murrell
Hi;I have an 88 ford ranger with 219,000 miles, had temp gauge reading
problem, after changing a bunch of parts, pulled rad. removed both
ends; PERFECT BRAND NEW LOOKING INSIDE; i have always used theCHEAPEST
antifreeze( i read somewhere that ALL antifreeze must meet a min. spec.
for the state??,maybe federal? ) that is when i started using CHEAP
STUFF); also 10 year use of CHEAP stuff in my 79 M.B. 240D; no problems
ever with cooling or heating

I believe the problem with using non-MB antifreeze in MB engines is it
attacks the alum head components.

Did you ever solve the temp gauge problems in the Ford?
