Re: [MBZ] CIS rebuild kit
Thanks to everyone, however I have put complete set of new injectors in the car. What I am looking for is the diaphragm for the CIS unit such that I can remove unit and clean out. I have tried to clean unit out, well as much as possible, but it appears that there is some solid trash in the unit and/or the diaphragm is not operating correctly. Initially at idle I was getting zero fuel on one cylinder (also tried different injector) after removing CIS unit and spraying CIS unit with carb cleaner I was able to get some fuel at idle, which improved the miss a bit. But it still is not correct. If I can not get a rebuild kit for the CIS unit I guess I could build a EFI system for the car and/or spend $1200 for a new CIS unit. Re: [MBZ] CIS rebuild kit
Sounds like dried fuel in the unit. You can disassemble the two halves but there is no gasket and you need to use a special sealer when re-assembling. Some local mechanics have used one of the loctite products but I don't know which one. There is a control module on the side (don't remember the name). A better solution is to remove this module to completely submerge the unit in carb cleaner for about a week. You'll need to hold the plunger down so that the cleaner can more easily enter the upper chambers. Re: [MBZ] CIS rebuild kit
I don't think you can get a kit as the pin is matched to the bore, and it's a real percision fit. I looked for one a few years back for my 911 and I was told Bosch will wait for a number or cores before they rebuild, so even if you fork out the money, you may have to wait. All the problem was in my case was two gummed up injectors. I would recommend you go with the injectors first, and I like the suggestion of just changing with with an injector you know is good to further narrow it down. Price of an injector sure beats a few CIS unit!! Good luck, Ed 300E On 08/07/07, Trampas [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Does anyone know if you can buy a rebuild kit for a CIS unit?
