Re: [MBZ] Car insurance— interesting “feature”
Those rare moments I am actually in a vehicle this year and use the phone, I tell it I am not driving, but walking. clay “I think it’s time we stopped our cringing embarrassment about our history, about our traditions, and about our culture, and we stop this general bout of self-recrimination and wetness.” B. Allstate has been advertising "pay per mile" plans here, so it's probaby related to that. Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes writes: > I paid my Allstate car insurance using their app on my phone. The app gives you the ability to remove or delete “trips” that it records. For instance, if you’re not driving, you can tell it you’re not. You can also disable the app’s ability to phone home, too, if you want. -D > On Oct 2, 2020, at 12:42 PM, Randy Bennell via Mercedes > wrote: > > So, when you feel like blasting around with you foot down, you "forget" the > phone at home? > > RB > > > On 02/10/2020 11:34 AM, Dan Penoff via Mercedes wrote: >> I’m using it at present, although grudgingly. I vetted the app and found that it’s pretty innocuous for the most part, relying primarily on the accelerometer to determine braking, acceleration and speed. Those are the biggies. That's my favorite part. If you stop for a yellow light and check your scorecard afterward, they ding you for a 'hard stop'. If you sail through as or slightly after the light turns red, your insurance score is better. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

I paid my Allstate car insurance using their app on my phone. The app updated at some point. When I started it a pop-up prompted me to set up some “feature” wherein it could track my location and driving behaviors or something.
