I agree they have a niche market.  It's a great place for the people who don't 
like the negotiation part of the deal.  They want to find a car and buy it.  I 
hate some dealer's tactics.  I have sued dealerships for those things and I 
have defended dealerships for similar things.  Carmax is for those people that 
don't want any of that.  I am not suggesting it's a bad business.  I am 
suggesting that for me, Carmax represents a bad deal.  My friend ended up 
finding exactly what she wanted at the local Nissan Dealer.  She paid $2000 
less for a practically identical car.  In fact, the one she bought was local, 
had lower miles and she didn't have to pay $350 to have one shipped .
