At Hobby airport in Houston I would park at the rental car lot for a few 
$$ a day then ride the shuttle over, less than half the price of the 
terminal garage and door-door service.

out to be the rentatoada department.   The manager, Pete, told me that 
toada highly encourages their stealers to rent cars at rates that 
undercut the #1 and #2 rentacar companies.   If you ever need to fly 
into San Diego, call up mossy's rental office and save money.

There was a time when I really wanted to live in the San Diego area, but I
doubt I could ever afford to live there unless I bought a live-aboard boat.

The climate is amazing, but the costs are crazy and the disappointing part

It depends on what else is in the area and what else is going on at the time. 
The most I ever paid was $700/night at a Radisson on 32nd st in NYC while the 
UN was in town. I told the customer it was an expensive week for me to be there 
but they insisted. They were paying so the customer gets what the customer 
wants...
