 You haven't lived until you have ridden in/owned a sorted W108/109 sedan.
They're easy to work on and very rewarding.  Driving at night with the
illuminated rainbow dash lights is a magical experience..

It is probably 20 miles away from Hillsboro, and it’s 10 years older than me. 
It would be cool to have a Mercedes of my birth year. since I would prefer a 
Diesel, that  would leave me with a 1972 220D, quite primitive compared to my 
240D. I like the 107 and 116, but I’ve never spent much time around a W108 SE 
or SEL.

It would be a nice rolling restoration candidate. Got a lot of little issues, 
but nothing significant from what I can see. Not sure I understand what was 
going on with the rear seat upholstery. That’s sort of weird.
