Andrew,

Have you found a turbo yet? I may have a spare that I can part with from a
300D, 123 sedan 82-85. Pulled from an engine that had a bad connecting rod
bearing.

I will take a look out in our pole barn, before I leave for Detroit this
morning.

I am offering a finder's fee to anyone who can locate a functioning
turbocharger from a *1985* W123 wagon, coupe, or sedan. No other MY will
do.

I will pay a reasonable price for the turbo, and in addition will reward
the broker with one (1) jar of my internet-famous jalapeno pepper jelly,
made from all-natural resources, including peppers grown organically in the
northwest Washington, D.C. This incomparable condiment suits all political
persuasions: goes great with brie cheese (for liberals), oatmeal (pour les
Francais), and roast chicken and griled lamb chops (RWers).

I need this part ASAP - the turbo I purchased is defective and there is no
replacement.

Thanks in advance, and may the scavenger hunt begin.

Re: [MBZ] Desperately seeking turbo + finder's fee!

2014-04-25 Thread Randy Bennell

Maybe, but I have to admit that I wonder why you have 2 MB wagons.
Surely one would be sufficient for your needs.
Given that the 85 seems to be a problem, it might be much easier for you
if you swapped it for something that was more common and less trouble to
source pieces for.

Subject: [MBZ] Desperately seeking turbo + finder's fee!

Doesn't fit or isn't factory? Those aren't the same thing. Might have to
change the manifold but since the engine didn't change appreciably I can't see
it being a 1 year turbo...
