But this is nothing new. Yet diesel has historically always been
cheaper than gasoline, except the past couple of years.

I think the reason is, as others have claimed, that refining technology
now allows more of the crude oil to be converted to gasoline, and so
less diesel is produced. Diesel used to be something of a waste
product in the refining process, thus keeping it cheap.

$3.60 in Goldsboro, NC

After I called to ensure that bio was still just $2.869, I drove 25 miles
into Phoenix to the ONLY stinkin' bio pump in this crazy town. When I
arrived, there was an 18-wheeler filling up. Behind him waiting was a feller
in a Ford 250 with an aux tank in the bed. Finally, the big rig was done,
pulled away and the little drive attendent vato said the tank was dry. If I
wanted to wait an hour or so they would have the tank refilled. 90 minutes
later, there were 8 assorted vechiles waiting. I asked the big boss looking
dude, who brought us out some H20 while we waited, why are there not at
least a few more bio pumps in PHX and he had a terse, one word answer...the
Z word...zoning. I'm not sure why it's such an issue...he couldn't explain
since he had to scram.

Last time I was in town they had the road ripped to heck and saw the
