Um, can you see the car behind you?  EGR isn't stuck.  Does the car 
actually accelerate?  EGR isn't stuck.

I must admit I, too, have not been following this thread - but - does either
of my cars (83 240D, and 87 190D) have this EGR valve, and are you guys
advocating simply removing it?
