Re: [MBZ] Geni engine
Hard to tell from the pictures, but it may be an OM636. YOU CAN see it is not OHC, and all the MB Fahrtzoid (SP) engines since about 1961 have been OHC. That does not mean this engine is 50 years old. THe OM636 was used for many applications including Thermoking reefers (up to about '75) and forklifts. I assume production ended sometime, but it was a very durable engine that had a long production life. Many of the japanese minitruck Diesels of the 80s were patterned from the OM636 If Isuzu is still making the engines for thermoking, they are probably still the OM636 design. In MB, then engine was made in 1.7 and 1.8 L sizes, as in the 170D of prewar and postwar production, and the 180Db (Ponton) http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/pts/1567604420.html Maybe Jim C needs this for his next project clay ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
