I used Shoe Goo to repair the soles on some hiking boots. Took them on vacation, got about 100yd down the trail and both soles peeled off. Went the rest of the way just walking on the pads. Maybe, that's what SWMBO does; in passenger seat, I'll see a pothole quarter of a mile away and think, Surely she sees it; I'll try not to say anything - a little pressure left or right on the steering wheel, and she'll miss it. The radio in my 190D is like that, it was one of the complaints on Amazon and I should have paid better attention. I've installed a little flap of cloth over it until I have time to investigate ways to cut down the brightness. I think I'll end up painting over many of the lit bits. The one that is particularly annoying is a ring around the volume knob. -Curt Date: Thu, 22 Sep 2011 09:55:49 -0400 From: Michael Canfield slozuk...@gmail.com To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Subject: Re: [MBZ] I used Shoe Goo tonight... Motorcycle training teaches you to pick an end point, that is, the spot where you want to end up at, and focus on that. It is applied primarily as a means to make turns and not under or over steer, as new riders are oft to do. If you ride, or for that matter, drive, try it some time. It's amazingly simple and works quite well. A lot of aftermarket units don't tie the brightness to the dash light circuit, which would be a good first step. Re: [MBZ] I used Shoe Goo tonight...
I have a collection of sample books of lighting gells (Colortron?) that include neutral density filters - cut off bits of them and apply as needed. You can also use the opposite color on a colored LED that's too bright to tame it. We have one over the face of an alarm clock that is just too bright.
