Re: [MBZ] MB is making...

2016-12-15 Thread Jaime Kopchinski via Mercedes
Start-stop has been around for years in lots of different cars in the US,
including Mercedes.

As for the Nissian/Mercedes engine link, this is also old news. Check this
out:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infiniti_Q50

The M274 is used in lots of Mercedes right now, and its really excellent.

Somebody posted an article here about current or next generation Mercedes
engines.  One engine has a starter / alternator / regenerative braking /
electric motor boost device.  All those features combined in one device.  All
this in the name of carbon output reduction.  I don't remember what they called

used Mercedes.

Not new.

I drove a Jeep at the 2015 Chowdah Q that did this. You come to a stop, after
a few seconds the engine shuts off. As soon as you put your foot on the gas to
take off, the engine cranks and away you go.

Made me crazy. I hated it, but it worked. I could only think that I hoped they
re-engineered the starter since it's going to get a major workout.
