Ads like that are either scams or need to be pounced on immediately. There was a nice Cub Cadet tiller for sale here a few years back and I regret not jumping on it as soon as I saw it. Reminds me to start watching the local ads for one. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

[MBZ] My latest mower situation
As you may recall in the spring eight before mowing season I bought a 2009 Kubota 4wd diesel lawn tractor. This particular model had a reputation for transmissions going bad were all previous Kubotas generally did not. I really liked it but had just fixed my JD gas mower from approx 2002. I decided to sell the Kubota, paid $2500 for it and sold it for $3400. Afterward I regretted it as that Kubota was like mowing with a Mercedes where the JD built Scott mower was like a Toyota. Both had about 400 hours on them. All summer just about everytime I mow I have to jack around with it. Saturday I went to mow and hit a somewhat tall patch of grass, blades slowed down and then got stuck. Threw the deck belt. This if after replacing the main double tensioner pulley and arm. I put it back on, shortly after belt starts smoking, I shut it off and see the main pulley arm is bent down to where the main pulley is tilted down and seized against the. I had enough of this thing. I hopped on Fakebook and mower like the one I had are all in the $3500-5k plus range. In fact, a couple of weeks ago the exact same on I had was listed for sale for $3900. The model right before the one I had was built from 2002-2008, is not 4wd but they do not have the transmission problem the next models have. These I see listed for low $2k for beat up ones to $3500 for nice once’s. Anyway, that night a 2006 model popped up about 3 hours away for $1500. I figured it was too good to be true, messaged seller who listed it for her dad. Today I went down to check it out, has 400 hours, in decent shape but all appears to work. It does need a battery so talked him down $100. After the deal with done he told me he bought it and a bad boy commercial zero turn at an estate sale for $2100 for the pair. So he made money, I got a good deal and hopefully this will be the last mower I ever have to buy. It’s a beast for sure. I couldn’t believe it was a real deal and not a scam, or that someone didn’t beat me to it. Perhaps because it’s at the end of the mowing season. I guess I need to figure out something with the 3 other mowers I have. I will probably get them operating and sell them next spring.
