Lots less obvious fraud on Craigslist than eBay. Local enough so that
proper piano movers and buyers can see the piano and touch it. Much
smoother transaction and no BS feedback. I post to CL now, since espay
is a rip off, and no need to deal with shipping on your end.

Pianos are hard to ship, probably worse than cars. Cars, at
least, can be driven and/or stored outside in an open trailer.
I'd favor a local sale over a remote one, at least at first.

I had exactly one nibble via craigslist on my for-sale 450 SL.
Guy was kind of odd, and rude.

My philosophy is always to try Craigslist first, since it's free. Let it go
awhile there and then list on Ebay if necessary.

I've had very good luck with both large and small (cheap/expensive) on
Craigslist. Kinda depends on where you are, though. In some places the
Craigslist community is more active than others.

Re: [MBZ] O.T. ebay vs. Craigslist

2006-01-11 Thread Potter, Tom E
Craigslist in Houston worked fine for me. I sold several items quickly.
I use it for items that would be a pain to ship (like a baby grand). I
would try Craigslist first. If the item did not sell, you could then put
it on e-bay.

You can't.

A couple of people have built search engines to aggregate search results for
Craigslist and CL will block them. CL's story is that they want all the
activity to be local, and a national search capability would circumvent
that...

And since ebay has an ownership stake in Craigslist, they have no interest
in fostering FREE competition by linking the various CL sites!

Does craigslist have any way to do a nationwide search? I have not
found a
way. You can only search in a city AFIK.

If I were you, I would contact your local trader publishing company
office(bargain post, autotrader etc) and put an ad in the bargain post,
should be cheap and can even have a picture. Will also go on the
