If you care anything for facts, what you just said has zero relationship with

What you are referring to is the Obama administration's attempt to revoke

I like my 12Ga semi auto with a 10 round clip and an extra one
handy in case you miss too much. With double ought that thing can
cut down 4" trees. If you like the sound of racking then just
pull the bolt back and let it go you'll have about the same sound
on this one.

"This door is locked for your protection"

That sign is presumptive that the individual can read, and understand.

Simply owning a functioning weapon does not make you able to deploy deadly
force under stress. There is some very good training available, presented
by people who have personally experienced such events. I suggest it would
be to your advantage to engage in that level of training.

Further, what happens after the violent event is even more important.
It is
not automatic that you will be patted on the back and given an

I suggest looking into membership of USCCA [United States Concealed Carry

I don't think theres much to worry about, once his buddy goes down the
average home invader is out of there.

Also using something like a 12ga you can sometimes get a 2 fer 1 if
they happen to be side by side...

I've always held to the idea that a shotgun is best for home defense,
much less to worry about on a missed shot. An AR in particular, if you
miss, can lead to lead in the neighbor's house, thats impolite.

This event has caused me to reconsider. It used to be that the vast
majority of home invasions was a single or a double. In that case,
nearly anything will do, but the sound of a 12 ga pump racking has a
certain chilling effect on those not drugged up. That means 4 is the

if they can't get one legally. But these guys were of the particularly
dim variety, taking along a knife on their mission and not thinking
about what they might encounter. AR-15 chlorination of the gene pool.

Too bad grandpa was not similarly one of Darwin's candidates, he could
have saved some trouble years later.

Speaking of which, I'm taking my CWP class Saturday week, and now the
legislature is going to pass a Constitutional carry law. Oh well, guess
I will be more prepared. I'm thinking a nice Mossberg in the shorty
pump style might be a nice addition to the home defense arsenal too.
That sound does evoke certain emotions.

In the former norm, that would be 2 or more apiece. To me, that was more

It the old scenario, I was comfortable with a single shot and extra shells

The heart of the comment I most agree with: This is a perfect example of
why high capacity semi-auto rifles / pistols should be legal. One home
resident vs. three intruders. Next time will they show up with four or
five?
